Setup

Setting the Time

  1. Pull the crown (the small knob on the side of the watch case) out to the furthest position.
  2. Rotate the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to set the hour and minute hands to the correct time.
  3. Once the time is set, push the crown back into its original position to start the watch movement.

Setting the Date

Your watch features a date display. To set the date:

  1. Pull the crown out to the middle position (if applicable, some watches have a single pull for time and a half-pull for date).
  2. Rotate the crown to adjust the date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can interfere with the automatic date change mechanism.
  3. Once the date is set, push the crown back into its original position.

Using Indiglo Night Light

To activate the Indiglo night light, press and hold the crown (or the designated pusher, if present) for a few seconds. The entire dial will illuminate for easy reading in low light conditions.

Operating the Watch

Timekeeping

Your Timex Waterbury watch is powered by a reliable quartz movement, providing accurate timekeeping. Ensure the crown is fully pushed in for the watch to operate correctly.

Water Resistance

This watch is water resistant up to 100 meters (10 ATM). This means it is suitable for showering, swimming, and snorkeling. It is not suitable for scuba diving or high-impact water sports. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before exposing the watch to water. Do not operate the crown or pushers while the watch is wet or submerged.

Maintenance

Cleaning Your Watch

To maintain the appearance of your watch:

  • Wipe the case and crystal with a soft, damp cloth.
  • For the fabric strap, a mild soap solution and a soft brush can be used, followed by rinsing with clean water and air drying. Ensure the watch case is not exposed to excessive water during strap cleaning.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the watch's finish.

Battery Replacement

Your quartz watch is powered by a battery. When the watch stops or the second hand begins to jump erratically (indicating a low battery), it's time for a replacement. It is recommended to have the battery replaced by an authorized Timex service center or a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and water resistance.

Troubleshooting

  • Watch Not Running:
Ensure the crown is fully pushed in. If the watch still does not run, the battery may need replacement.
  • Date Not Changing:
Check if the time is set correctly (AM/PM). If the date changes at noon, the watch is set for PM instead of AM. Adjust the time by 12 hours.
  • Condensation Under Crystal:
This may indicate a loss of water resistance. Avoid further exposure to water and have the watch inspected by a qualified technician immediately.
