Setup Instructions

1. Driver Installation

1. Insert the provided USB Driver CD into your computer's optical drive.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the necessary USB drivers.
3. After successful installation, restart your computer to ensure drivers are properly loaded.
4. Compatibility: This cable and its drivers are designed for Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10 operating systems. It is not compatible with Mac systems.

2. Physical Connection

Connect the cable to your computer and ICOM radio as follows:

• Connect the USB end of the CT-17 cable to an available USB port on your computer.
• Connect the 3.5mm audio plug end of the CT-17 cable to the CI-V remote jack on your compatible ICOM radio.

3. COM Port Configuration

After connecting the cable and installing drivers, you must identify and select the correct COM port in your radio control software:

2. Expand the "Ports (COM & LPT)" section.
3. Locate the newly installed USB Serial Port. Note its assigned COM port number (e.g., COM3, COM4). This is typically not COM1.
4. In your radio programming or control software (e.g., Ham Radio Deluxe, CHIRP), navigate to the communication settings and select the identified COM port.
5. Configure other communication parameters (e.g., baud rate) as required by your radio and software.
