2. Setup

2.1 Unboxing and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect the drone, remote controller, and accessories for any signs of damage. If any damage is found, do not proceed with setup and contact customer support.

2.2 Charging Batteries

Before first use, fully charge the Intelligent Flight Battery and the remote controller battery using the provided charger.

  1. Connect the charger to a power outlet.
  2. Connect the Intelligent Flight Battery to the charging hub.
  3. Connect the remote controller to the charging hub.
  4. Charging is complete when the battery level indicators turn off.

2.3 Propeller Attachment

Attach the propellers to the motor bases. Match the propellers with silver rings to the motors with silver caps, and propellers without rings to motors without caps. Press down and twist to secure. Ensure all propellers are firmly attached before flight.

2.4 Gimbal Protector Removal

Before powering on the drone, always remove the gimbal clamp and dome cover. Failure to do so can damage the gimbal.

2.5 App Installation and Connection

Download and install the official DJI GO 4 app on your mobile device. Connect your mobile device to the remote controller using the provided cable. Power on the remote controller, then the aircraft. Follow the on-screen instructions in the app to activate the drone and perform initial settings.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

Regularly clean the drone body, propellers, and camera lens. Use a soft, dry cloth for the drone body. For the camera lens, use a lens cleaning cloth and solution. Avoid using harsh chemicals.

4.2 Propeller Inspection and Replacement

Inspect propellers before each flight for cracks, bends, or damage. Replace any damaged propellers immediately. Always use genuine DJI propellers.

4.3 Battery Care and Storage

  • Do not overcharge or over-discharge batteries.
  • Store batteries in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • For long-term storage, discharge batteries to 50-60% capacity.
  • Avoid puncturing or damaging the battery casing.

4.4 Firmware Updates

Periodically check for firmware updates via the DJI GO 4 app or the official DJI website. Keep your drone and remote controller firmware updated for optimal performance and new features.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Common Issues

  • Drone not connecting to remote controller/app: Ensure both devices are powered on, the mobile device is correctly connected to the remote controller, and the DJI GO 4 app is open. Try restarting both the drone and controller.
  • Gimbal issues (shaking, abnormal movement): Ensure the gimbal clamp and dome cover are removed before powering on. Calibrate the gimbal through the DJI GO 4 app. Check for any obstructions around the gimbal.
  • Loss of signal/disconnection: Fly within the specified transmission range (up to 4.3 miles / 7km). Avoid areas with strong electromagnetic interference. Ensure the remote controller antennas are properly oriented towards the aircraft.
  • Poor video quality: Check camera settings in the DJI GO 4 app. Ensure the lens is clean. Verify that the correct resolution and frame rate are selected.

5.2 Error Messages

If an error message appears in the DJI GO 4 app, refer to the app's help section or the official DJI website for specific error code explanations and solutions. Do not fly the drone if critical error messages are present.
