Note: The kettle features boil-dry protection. If the kettle is accidentally switched on without sufficient water, it will automatically turn off. Allow it to cool down before refilling with water.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your electric kettle.
- Before Cleaning: Always unplug the kettle from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may scratch the stainless steel finish.
- Interior Cleaning (Descaling): Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) may build up inside the kettle, especially in hard water areas.
- Fill the kettle with a mixture of one part white vinegar and two parts water.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and let it stand for at least 30 minutes, or longer for heavy buildup.
- Empty the kettle and rinse thoroughly with fresh water several times.
- For stubborn deposits, a non-abrasive descaling solution designed for kettles can be used following the product's instructions.
- Strainer Cleaning: The spout has a built-in strainer. If it becomes clogged, gently remove it (if detachable) and rinse under running water. Reinsert securely.
- Storage: When not in use, store the kettle and its base in a dry place. You can wrap the power cord around the base for neat storage.
CAUTION: Never immerse the kettle or its power base in water or any other liquid.
