Setup and Installation

Step 1: Before You Begin

• Determine the desired mounting height for your television.
• Identify your wall type:
  • Wood Stud Walls: Use a stud finder to locate the center of at least two adjacent wood studs. Ensure the studs are spaced appropriately for the wall plate.
  • Solid Concrete or Brick Walls: No studs are required, but ensure the wall is solid and free of hidden pipes or wires.
• Clear the installation area of obstructions.

Step 2: Attaching TV Brackets to the Television

1. Carefully place your television face-down on a soft, clean surface to prevent screen damage.
2. Identify the VESA mounting holes on the back of your TV.
3. Select the appropriate screws (M4, M6, or M8) and spacers from the hardware kit that fit your TV's mounting holes. Ensure the screws are long enough to secure the brackets without bottoming out or damaging internal components.
4. Attach the two TV brackets to the back of your television using the selected screws and washers. Ensure the brackets are centered and level, with the hooks facing downwards. Do not overtighten.

Step 3: Mounting the Wall Plate

1. Hold the wall plate against the wall at your desired height. Use a level to ensure it is perfectly horizontal.
2. Mark the drill hole locations through the holes on the wall plate using a pencil. For wood studs, mark at least two holes per stud. For concrete/brick, mark all desired holes.
3. Set the wall plate aside. Drill pilot holes at the marked locations:
   • Wood Stud Walls: Drill pilot holes using a 7/32" (5.5mm) drill bit to a depth of 2.2" (55mm).
   • Solid Concrete/Brick Walls: Drill pilot holes using a 3/8" (10mm) masonry drill bit to a depth of 2.4" (60mm). Insert concrete anchors into the drilled holes, tapping gently with a hammer until flush with the wall surface.
4. Align the wall plate with the drilled holes. Secure the wall plate to the wall using the lag bolts and washers provided in the hardware kit. Tighten the lag bolts firmly, but do not overtighten.

Step 4: Mounting the Television to the Wall Plate

1. With assistance, carefully lift the television with the attached brackets.
2. Align the hooks on the TV brackets with the top edge of the wall plate. Gently lower the television, ensuring the hooks engage securely with the wall plate.
3. Once the TV is hanging, gently push the bottom of the TV towards the wall until the self-locking spring mechanism engages, securing the TV in place. You should hear a click.
4. To ensure the TV is fully secured, gently pull the bottom of the TV away from the wall. If it does not move, it is properly locked.

Operating

The ONN ONA17TM010 is a fixed wall mount, meaning it does not offer tilt, swivel, or extension capabilities once installed. The television will remain in a fixed position against the wall.
