4.1 Physical Installation

The DoorBird D2101V is designed for either flush or surface mounting. The appropriate back box must be purchased separately. The unit measures approximately 9.96 inches (25.3 cm) long by 5.16 inches (13.1 cm) wide by 1.92 inches (4.9 cm) deep.

It is recommended to mount the unit at a height of at least 49 inches (124.5 cm) from the ground to ensure optimal camera view and accessibility for visitors.

4.2 Wiring and Power

The D2101V primarily uses a wired connection for both data and power. It features an RJ45 connector for LAN/POE (Power Over Ethernet).

4.3 Network and App Configuration

After physical installation and wiring, connect the DoorBird to your local network. The device supports Wi-Fi connectivity, but a wired Ethernet connection is recommended for optimal performance and reliability.

5.2 Two-Way Communication

Upon receiving a notification, open the DoorBird app to establish a live video and audio connection with your visitor. You can speak with them and hear their responses in real-time.

5.3 Door/Gate Opening (Lock Strike Integration)

The D2101V includes built-in lock strike capabilities, allowing you to remotely open a connected door or gate directly from the DoorBird app. Ensure your lock strike system is properly wired and configured with the DoorBird unit.

The unit features an integrated RFID card reader for access control. Authorized users can gain entry by presenting a registered RFID card or tag to the device. RFID cards are typically configured and managed through the DoorBird app.
