The ZKTeco LX50 is a standalone biometric fingerprint time attendance system designed for efficient employee check-in and attendance tracking. 2. Components and Interface

Familiarize yourself with the main components of your LX50 device:

• OLED Display: Shows time, date, menu options, and verification status.
• Keypad: Used for navigation, data entry, and menu selection.

• USB Port (Host): Located on the side, used for connecting a USB flash drive for data transfer.
• Power Port: Located at the bottom, for connecting the 5V power adapter.

3. Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your ZKTeco LX50 device:

1. Power Connection: Connect the provided 5V power adapter to the power port at the bottom of the device and plug it into a power outlet. The device will power on automatically.
2. Initial Configuration: The device will display the current time and date. You may need to adjust these settings through the menu.
3. Mounting (Optional): If wall-mounting, use the provided screws and anchors. Ensure the device is securely fastened.

4. Operation

4.1 User Registration

To register a new user:

1. Press the M/OK button to enter the main menu.
2. Navigate to User and press M/OK.
3. Select Add User and press M/OK.
4. Enter the user ID and name using the keypad.
5. Select FP (Fingerprint) and place the user's finger on the scanner three times for enrollment.
6. Optionally, set a password for the user.
7. Press M/OK to save.

4.2 Shift Settings

To configure shift settings:

1. Press the M/OK button to enter the main menu.
2. Navigate to Shift Set and press M/OK.
3. First, ensure a department is created under Dept. Set.
4. Under Shift Set, you can define attendance rules (e.g., grace period for late/early leave), schedule type, and default shift.
5. You can also specify if Saturday/Sunday are working days (On-duty) or off days.
6. Navigate to Schedule to assign shifts to specific employees or departments.
7. Press M/OK to confirm changes.

4.3 Data Download and Report Generation

The LX50 features a Self-Service-Recorder (SSR) function, allowing direct report generation to a USB flash drive.

1. Ensure you have an 8GB USB flash drive formatted to FAT32.
2. Insert the USB flash drive into the USB Host port on the side of the device.
3. Press the M/OK button to enter the main menu.
4. Navigate to Report and press M/OK.
5. You will see options like Download ATT Report, Download ATT Setting Report, and Upload ATT Setting Report.
6. Select Download ATT Report to download attendance records to the USB drive in Excel format.
7. Select Download ATT Setting Report to save device settings to the USB drive. This can be used to back up settings or transfer them to another device.
8. Select Upload ATT Setting Report to load settings from a USB drive to the device.

5. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device, especially the fingerprint scanner and screen. Avoid abrasive cleaners or liquids.
• Power Supply: Always use the original 5V power adapter. Incorrect voltage can damage the device.
• Data Backup: Regularly back up attendance data and device settings to a USB flash drive to prevent data loss.
• Environment: Keep the device in a dry, dust-free environment. Avoid direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

6. Troubleshooting

• Fingerprint Not Reading: Ensure the finger is clean and dry. Try re-enrolling the fingerprint if issues persist.
• Data Download Issues: Verify the USB flash drive is 8GB and formatted to FAT32. Ensure it is inserted correctly.
• Device Not Powering On: Check the power adapter connection and the power outlet.
• Shift Setting Errors: Review the attendance rules and schedule configurations. Ensure department and shift names are correctly assigned.
