The Citizen Promaster Wingman JN5000-55E is a men's dress watch featuring a 41mm stainless steel case, a black dial with red hands and white indexes, and a stainless-steel band. It is equipped with a Japanese Quartz movement and a mineral crystal for durability. The watch is designed for everyday wear and is water-resistant.
3. Setup
3.1 Setting the Time
- Pull the crown out to the second click position. The second hand will stop.
- Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands. Ensure the AM/PM setting is correct if your watch has a 24-hour indicator or date function that changes at midnight.
- Push the crown back into the normal position. The second hand will resume movement.
3.2 Setting the Date (if applicable)
- Pull the crown out to the first click position.
- Rotate the crown to set the date. Avoid setting the date between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM, as this may interfere with the automatic date change mechanism.
- Push the crown back into the normal position.
3.3 Adjusting the Band
The stainless-steel band may require adjustment for a comfortable fit. This typically involves removing or adding links. It is recommended to have this adjustment performed by a qualified jeweler or watch technician to prevent damage to the band or clasp.
4. Operating the Watch
4.1 Timekeeping
Your Citizen Promaster Wingman watch is powered by a reliable Japanese Quartz movement, providing accurate timekeeping. Once the time is set, the watch will continue to operate precisely until the battery requires replacement or if exposed to strong magnetic fields.
4.2 Water Resistance (10 ATM / 100 Meters / 330 Feet)
This watch is water-resistant to 10 ATM (100 meters or 330 feet). This rating means the watch is suitable for swimming, snorkeling, and showering. However, it is not suitable for scuba diving. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before exposing the watch to water. Do not operate the crown or pushers while the watch is wet or submerged.
- Avoid: Hot water, steam, or sudden temperature changes, which can compromise water resistance seals.
- After exposure to saltwater: Rinse the watch with fresh water and dry it thoroughly.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
To maintain the appearance of your watch, wipe the case and band regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For stainless steel bands, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying. Avoid using chemical cleaners, solvents, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the watch's finish.
5.2 Battery Replacement
As a quartz watch, your Promaster Wingman is powered by a battery. When the battery is low, the second hand may start moving at two-second intervals (End-of-Life indicator). It is recommended to have the battery replaced by an authorized Citizen service center or a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and maintain water resistance.
5.3 Storage
When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and strong magnetic fields. Keeping it in its original box or a watch case can help protect it from dust and scratches.
6. Troubleshooting
- Watch has stopped: Check if the crown is fully pushed in. If it is, the battery may need replacement.
- Incorrect time/date: Refer to Section 3 "Setup" to reset the time and date. Ensure the crown is fully pushed in after adjustment.
- Condensation inside the crystal: This indicates a potential breach in the watch's water resistance. Seek immediate professional service to prevent further damage to the movement.
- Band discomfort: Ensure the band is adjusted correctly. If links need to be added or removed, consult a professional.
