Setup and First Use

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials, including any tape or labels. Ensure all components are present: coffee maker unit, 12-cup glass carafe, single-serve pod holder, single-serve grounds basket, and gold-tone permanent filter.
2. Cleaning: Before first use, wash the carafe, carafe lid, single-serve pod holder, single-serve grounds basket, and gold-tone permanent filter in hot, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.
3. First Brew Cycle (Cleaning Cycle):

   To clean the internal components, perform a brew cycle using only water. Fill the carafe water reservoir (left side) to the 12-cup mark with fresh, cold water. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate. Close the carafe lid securely.

   For the single-serve side, fill the single-serve water reservoir (right side) with fresh, cold water up to the MAX fill line. Do not insert a pod or grounds. Close the single-serve lid securely. Press the "Brew Now I/O" button for the carafe side and then for the single-serve side to run a full water cycle through both. Discard the water after the cycle is complete.

4. Setting the Clock: Press the "SET TIME" button. Use the "H" (Hour) and "M" (Minute) buttons to set the current time. Press "SET TIME" again to confirm.

Operating Instructions

Brewing a Full Carafe (12 Cups):

1. Open the carafe-side lid and fill the water reservoir with desired amount of cold water (up to 12 cups).
2. Place the gold-tone permanent filter or a paper filter (cone-style) into the brew basket. Add desired amount of ground coffee (approximately 1 tablespoon per cup for medium strength).
3. Place the carafe on the warming plate. Close the carafe-side lid.
4. Press the "CARAFE" button to select carafe brewing.
5. (Optional) To adjust brew strength, press "BREW STRENGTH" to toggle between Regular and Bold.
6. Press "BREW NOW I/O" to start brewing. The coffee maker will automatically shut off after 2 hours.

Brewing a Single Serving (K-Cup Pod or Ground Coffee):

1. Open the single-serve side lid.
2. For K-Cup Pods: Insert a K-Cup pod into the pod holder. Close the lid firmly until it clicks.
3. For Ground Coffee: Place the single-serve grounds basket into the pod holder. Add desired amount of ground coffee (up to 3 tablespoons). Close the lid firmly until it clicks.

4. Fill the single-serve water reservoir with fresh, cold water. Do not exceed the MAX fill line.
5. Place your mug or travel mug on the cup rest. The cup rest can be removed for taller mugs.

6. Press the "SINGLE" button to select single-serve brewing.
7. (Optional) To adjust brew strength, press "BREW STRENGTH" to toggle between Regular and Bold.
8. Press "BREW NOW I/O" to start brewing.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your coffee maker.

Daily Cleaning:

• After each use, discard used coffee grounds or pods.
• Wash the carafe, carafe lid, single-serve pod holder, single-serve grounds basket, and gold-tone permanent filter in hot, soapy water. These parts are also top-rack dishwasher safe.
• Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.

Descaling (Monthly or as Needed):

Mineral deposits from water can build up over time, affecting performance. Descale your coffee maker regularly.

1. Pour 1 cup of white vinegar into the carafe water reservoir and 1 cup of white vinegar into the single-serve water reservoir.
2. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
3. Run a full brew cycle on both the carafe and single-serve sides (without coffee).
4. After the cycle, turn off the coffee maker and let it stand for 20-30 minutes.
5. Run two full cycles with fresh, cold water through both sides to rinse thoroughly.
