1. SmartBase Metal Mattress Foundation Assembly
The ZINUS SmartBase Metal Mattress Foundation is designed for easy assembly without the need for additional tools. Follow the instructions provided with your frame for detailed steps. Ensure all components are securely connected before placing the mattress.

2. Mattress Unboxing and Expansion
Your ZINUS mattress is compressed and rolled for convenient shipping. Follow these steps for proper unboxing and expansion:
- Lay the Box on its Side: Position the mattress box on its side in your bedroom, near the assembled bed frame.
- Remove Bagged Mattress: Carefully remove the bagged mattress from the box.
- Tear Away First Packing Material: Gently tear away the first layer of thin bag or plastic film. DO NOT USE A KNIFE for this step, as it may damage the mattress.
- Roll Out Compressed Mattress: Place the compressed mattress onto a clean, flat surface (or directly onto your bed frame), with the zipper side facing down.
- Cut Open Clear Plastic Bag: Carefully cut open the clear plastic bag along the edges using scissors. The mattress will instantly begin to decompress. Remove and recycle the plastic bag.
- Allow for Full Expansion: The mattress will expand to its full size. Allow up to 72 hours for complete decompression, though it can be used immediately.

- Discomfort: Memory foam mattresses require a short adjustment period. If discomfort persists after the initial break-in period, ensure the mattress is properly supported by the foundation.
