4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the unit.
- Remove the cover by sliding it down or lifting it off.
- Insert two (2) 1.5V AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
- Replace the battery compartment cover.
- The device will power on automatically and display current temperature and humidity.
4.2 Placement
The TFA 30.5045.54 Thermo-Hygrometer can be placed on a tabletop or mounted on a wall.
- Tabletop: Use the integrated stand on the back of the unit to place it on a flat surface.
- Wall-mounted: Use a screw (not included) to hang the unit from the designated mounting hole on the back.
For accurate readings, place the unit away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and drafts.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Current Readings
Upon power-on, the device immediately displays the current indoor temperature and humidity. The trend arrows next to the temperature and humidity values indicate whether the respective measurement is rising, stable, or falling over a short period.
5.2 Comfort Level Indication
The colored zones at the bottom of the display provide a quick visual reference for the indoor humidity comfort level:
- DRY (Blue): Humidity is below 45%.
- COM (Green): Humidity is between 45% and 65%, indicating a comfortable range.
- WET (Orange): Humidity is above 65%.
5.3 Minimum and Maximum Values
To view the recorded minimum and maximum temperature and humidity values:
- Press the MIN/MAX button once to display the maximum recorded values.
- Press the MIN/MAX button again to display the minimum recorded values.
- Press the MIN/MAX button a third time to return to current readings.
To reset the minimum and maximum values, press and hold the MIN/MAX button for approximately 3 seconds while the MIN or MAX values are displayed. The display will flash, indicating the values have been reset.
5.4 Remote Sensor Functionality
This unit can function as an additional remote sensor for compatible TFA devices, specifically models 30.3054.10, 30.3056.10 (for temperature and humidity), and 30.3062.10 (for temperature only). Refer to the instruction manual of your main TFA device for details on pairing and channel selection. Use the CH/+ button on this unit to select the appropriate channel if necessary.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
