1. Introduction
The Frigidaire EFIC189-Silver Compact Ice Maker is designed to provide a convenient and efficient way to produce ice cubes for your home or office. Its compact size allows for easy placement on countertops without occupying excessive space. 2. Setup
Before first use, carefully unpack the ice maker and remove all packaging materials. Place the unit on a stable, level surface away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the appliance, especially near the air vents located on the sides and back.
Clean the interior of the ice maker, including the water reservoir and ice basket, with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and wipe dry before adding water.

3. Operating Instructions
To begin operation, ensure the unit is plugged into a grounded electrical outlet. Open the lid and fill the water reservoir with potable water up to the MAX fill line. Do not overfill.

Press the ON/OFF button to power on the ice maker. The Power indicator light will illuminate. Use the SELECT button to choose your desired ice cube size: 'S' for small or 'L' for large. The corresponding indicator light will turn on.
The ice maker will begin the ice production cycle. Ice cubes will be ready in approximately 6-7 minutes. Once a batch is complete, the ice will drop into the ice basket. The unit will continue to make ice until the ice basket is full or the water reservoir is empty.
When the 'ICE FULL' indicator light illuminates, the ice basket is full, and the unit will pause ice production. Remove ice from the basket to resume operation. When the 'ADD WATER' indicator light illuminates, the water reservoir is empty. Add more water to continue making ice.

4. Maintenance
Regular cleaning is essential for optimal performance and hygiene. It is recommended to clean the ice maker at least once a week, or more frequently depending on usage.
4.1 Cleaning the Interior
- Unplug the ice maker from the power outlet.
- Remove the ice basket.
- Locate the drain plug at the bottom of the unit. Carefully remove the plug to drain any remaining water from the reservoir.
- Wipe the interior of the water reservoir and ice basket with a soft cloth dampened with a mild detergent solution.
- Rinse the interior thoroughly with clean water to remove any detergent residue.
- For thorough drying, leave the lid open and allow the interior to air dry completely. Some users find it helpful to use a microfiber towel to absorb residual water in the reservoir.
4.2 Cleaning the Exterior
Wipe the exterior of the ice maker with a soft, damp cloth. For stainless steel surfaces, use a stainless steel cleaner if necessary. Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
4.3 Storage
If the ice maker will not be used for an extended period, ensure it is thoroughly cleaned and dried. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
