Setup and Installation

Mounting

The AHC15A timer switch is designed for standard DIN rail mounting. Securely attach the device to a DIN rail in an appropriate electrical enclosure.

Wiring Instructions

Refer to the wiring diagram on the back of the unit for correct electrical connections. Ensure all connections are secure and comply with local electrical codes. Disconnect power before wiring.

Wiring Terminals:

  • L (Line): Live input (connect to AC 220V live wire).
  • N (Neutral): Neutral input (connect to AC 220V neutral wire).
  • 1, 2: Power supply input for the timer module (connect to AC 220V).
  • 3 (Common): Common terminal for the relay output.
  • 4 (NO): Normally Open contact. Connect to the load's live input for switching.
  • 5 (NC): Normally Closed contact.

Initial Power-Up and Reset

  1. Connect the timer switch to an AC 220V power source. This will also charge the internal battery.
  2. Press the RESET button (located next to the "time" button) using a pointed object to clear all previous settings and initialize the device.

Setting Time Mode (12-hour / 24-hour)

  1. By default, the timer operates in 24-hour mode.
  2. To switch to 12-hour mode, press and hold the time button (bottom left, next to RESET) for 5 seconds until "AM" or "PM" appears on the display.
  3. To revert to 24-hour mode, press and hold the time button again for 5 seconds.

Operating Instructions

Setting Current Time

After resetting, the display will show a default time. To set the current time:

  1. Press the time button.
  2. Use D+ to set the current day of the week.
  3. Use H+ to set the current hour.
  4. Use M+ to set the current minute.
  5. Press the time button again to save and exit.

Programming ON/OFF Times

The timer supports up to 16 ON and 16 OFF settings.

Follow these steps to program a timer event:

  1. Press the P button once. The display will show "1 ON". This is for the first ON setting.
  2. Press D+ to select the desired day(s) of the week for this ON event. Options include individual days, weekdays, weekends, or all days. If you want the same setting for every day, you do not need to press this button.
  3. Press H+ to set the hour and M+ to set the minute for the "1 ON" event.
  4. Press the P button again. The display will show "1 OFF". This is for the first OFF setting.
  5. Press D+ to select the desired day(s) of the week for this OFF event. (Same logic as for ON event).
  6. Press H+ to set the hour and M+ to set the minute for the "1 OFF" event.
  7. Repeat steps 1-6 for additional ON/OFF settings (up to 16 pairs). Each press of P will cycle through "2 ON", "2 OFF", etc.
  8. After setting all desired programs, press the time button (bottom left, next to RESET) to save the settings and return to the current time display.

Manual Override (MANUAL C/R)

The MANUAL C/R button allows you to manually override the programmed state.

  • Pressing MANUAL C/R cycles through ON, AUTO, and OFF modes.
  • ON: The output is continuously ON, overriding any programmed OFF times.
  • OFF: The output is continuously OFF, overriding any programmed ON times.
  • AUTO: The timer operates according to the programmed ON/OFF settings. Ensure the timer is in AUTO mode for automatic operation.

Maintenance

The Walfront AHC15A timer switch requires minimal maintenance.

  • Keep the device clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • The internal battery is rechargeable and designed for long-term use. If the display becomes dim or loses time frequently after power outages, the battery may need replacement by a qualified technician.

Troubleshooting

  • Display is blank: Check power supply connections. Ensure the device is receiving 220V AC. If the internal battery is completely drained, it may take some time to charge before the display activates.
  • Programs not executing:
    • Ensure the timer is set to AUTO mode using the MANUAL C/R button.
    • Verify that the current time and day are set correctly.
    • Double-check your programmed ON/OFF times for accuracy.
    • Ensure the load capacity is not exceeded.
  • Incorrect time display: Reset the device and set the current time again. If the issue persists, the internal battery might be failing and require professional service.
