3. Setup
3.1 Battery and SD Card Installation
The AZ252 camera uses four AA batteries and a standard SD/SDHC memory card (Class 4 or higher, up to 32GB). Ensure batteries are inserted correctly and the SD card is properly seated before use.
- Open the battery/SD card compartment cover located on the bottom of the camera.
- Insert four AA batteries, matching the polarity indicators inside the compartment.
- Insert a compatible SD/SDHC card into the card slot until it clicks into place.
- Close the compartment cover securely.
Note: The AZ252 is not compatible with Micro SD, micro/adapter, Ultra, Ultra plus, Extreme, Extreme Plus, Extreme Pro, or SDXC cards.
3.2 Attaching the Neck Strap and Lens Cover
Attach the provided neck strap to the camera's strap lugs for secure handling. The lens cover protects the lens when not in use; attach its cord to prevent loss.
4. Operating the Camera
4.1 Powering On/Off
To power on the camera, slide the ON/OFF switch. The lens will extend, and the LCD screen will activate. To power off, slide the switch again; the lens will retract.
4.2 Basic Photography
The AZ252 features a 16-megapixel sensor and 25x optical zoom, allowing for detailed images from various distances.
- Taking a Photo: Press the shutter button halfway to focus, then press fully to capture the image.
- Zoom: Use the zoom lever around the shutter button to adjust the 25x optical zoom.
- Flash: To activate the built-in flash, press the flash button on the side of the camera. You can select flash modes (e.g., Force Flash) via the menu.
- Wide-Angle Lens: The 24mm wide-angle lens is excellent for capturing landscapes or group shots.

4.3 Video Recording
Record 720p HD videos with a dedicated one-touch record button. Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) helps reduce blur from camera shake during recording.
4.4 Viewing and Playback
View your captured photos and videos on the 3-inch LCD screen. Use the playback button to access your media library.

5. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera body. For the lens and LCD screen, use a specialized lens cleaning cloth and solution.
