Introduction
The Shark ION Robot (RV720) is designed to provide automatic cleaning for your home. It effectively cleans dust, dirt, large debris, and pet hair across various surfaces including carpets, hard floors, edges, and corners. Equipped with Smart Sensor Navigation, a self-cleaning brush roll, and dual side brushes, this robot vacuum simplifies daily upkeep.

Setup
1. Unboxing and Initial Charge:
- Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
- Place the charging dock on a level surface against a wall in an open area. Ensure there are no obstacles within 3 feet (1 meter) on either side of the dock and 5 feet (1.5 meters) in front of it.
- Plug the charging dock into a power outlet.
- Place the Shark ION Robot onto the charging dock. Ensure the charging contacts on the robot align with those on the dock. The battery indicator lights will illuminate to show charging status. Allow the robot to fully charge before its first use (approximately 3 hours).
2. Installing Side Brushes:
- Flip the robot over.
- Snap the two side brushes onto the square pegs on the bottom of the robot until they click into place.
3. Setting Up BotBoundary Strips:
Use the included BotBoundary strips to create virtual barriers for areas you want the robot to avoid, such as pet bowls, delicate furniture, or specific rooms.
- Cut the strip to the desired length.
- Place the strip flat on the floor or under an area you want to block off.
- Ensure the strip is completely flat and not overlapping.

Operating Instructions
1. Starting a Clean Cycle:
- Manual Start: Press the "Clean" button on the top of the robot or on the remote control. The robot will begin cleaning and return to the dock when finished or when the battery is low.
- Scheduled Cleaning: Use the remote control to set a recurring cleaning schedule. Refer to the remote control section for detailed instructions.

2. Using the Remote Control:
- Clean: Starts a cleaning cycle.
- Dock: Sends the robot back to its charging dock.
- Spot: Initiates a concentrated clean in a specific area.
- Directional Arrows: Manually steer the robot for targeted cleaning.
- Schedule: Program daily cleaning times.
3. Smart Sensor Navigation:
The robot uses smart sensors to navigate your home, avoiding obstacles and adapting to different floor types. It may bump into objects gently to map its environment.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance of your Shark ION Robot.
1. Emptying the Dust Bin:
- Press the dust bin release button and slide out the dust bin.
- Open the dust bin flap and empty debris into a trash can.
- Close the flap and slide the dust bin back into the robot until it clicks.
- Frequency: Empty after each use or as needed, especially with high pet hair accumulation.
2. Cleaning the Filter:
- Remove the dust bin.
- Pull the filter out from the dust bin.
- Tap the filter clean to remove loose dirt. Do not wash the filter with water.
- Reinsert the filter and dust bin.
- Frequency: Clean weekly. Replace every 2-3 months.
3. Cleaning the Brush Roll:
- Open the brush roll access door by pushing up on the tabs.
- Lift out the brush roll.
- Remove any hair or debris wrapped around the brush roll. Use the included cleaning tool if necessary.
- Reinsert the brush roll and close the access door.
- Frequency: Inspect weekly, clean as needed.
4. Cleaning Side Brushes:
- Gently pull the side brushes off their pegs.
- Remove any debris or hair.
- Reattach the brushes, ensuring they click into place.
- Frequency: Inspect monthly, replace if damaged.
5. Cleaning Sensors and Charging Pads:
- Wipe the sensors and charging pads on the robot and dock with a dry cloth.
- Frequency: Monthly.
