Operating Instructions

Feeding with the Natural Bottle:

  1. Fill the bottle with the desired amount of breast milk or formula.
  2. Ensure the nipple and screw ring are securely attached to prevent leaks.
  3. The wide breast-shaped nipple is designed for a natural latch. Position the nipple in your baby's mouth so their lips are sealed around the base.
  4. The anti-colic valve in the nipple is designed to vent air away from your baby's tummy, reducing colic and discomfort. Ensure the valve is clear and not obstructed.

Using Soothie Pacifiers:

The included Soothie Pacifiers are made from hospital-grade silicone and feature a one-piece construction. They are designed to calm newborns.

  • Before first use, sterilize the pacifier.
  • Inspect the pacifier before each use, especially when the baby has teeth. Pull the pacifier in all directions. Discard at the first sign of damage or weakness.
  • Do not tie the pacifier around a baby's neck as it presents a strangulation danger.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper cleaning and sterilization are crucial for your baby's health.

Cleaning:

  1. Disassemble all bottle parts (bottle, nipple, screw ring, cap) and sealing disks immediately after each use.
  2. Rinse all components under cold running water.
  3. Wash all parts in warm, soapy water using the included bottle brush. The curved brush head and molded tip are designed to clean hard-to-reach areas effectively.
  4. Alternatively, all components are dishwasher safe (top rack only).
  5. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.

Sterilization:

Sterilize all cleaned components before each use for babies under 6 months, or as recommended by your healthcare provider.

  • Boiling: Place disassembled parts in a pot of boiling water for 5 minutes. Ensure all parts are fully submerged and do not touch the sides of the pot to prevent damage.
  • Steam Sterilizer: Use a Philips Avent steam sterilizer or another suitable steam sterilizer according to its instructions.
  • Microwave Sterilizer: The bottles are microwave safe. Use a microwave sterilizer according to its instructions.

Troubleshooting

  • Nipple Collapse: The unique comfort petals are designed to prevent nipple collapse. Ensure the nipple is correctly assembled and the anti-colic valve is clear. If collapse persists, check for damage or consider replacing the nipple.
  • Leaking: Ensure the screw ring is tightened securely onto the bottle and the nipple is properly seated within the screw ring. Check for any damage to the nipple or bottle rim.
  • Colic/Discomfort: The anti-colic system is designed to reduce air intake. Ensure the nipple's anti-colic valve is positioned correctly and not blocked. If colic persists, consult a healthcare professional.
  • Difficulty Cleaning: Utilize the provided bottle brush for thorough cleaning. Its design helps reach all areas of the bottle. For stubborn residue, soak parts before washing.
