1. Important Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before operating the TV. Keep these instructions for future reference. Always follow basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons.

  • Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
  • Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
  • Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
  • Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
  • Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.

2. Product Overview

The RCA RT1970 is a 19-inch 720p LED TV designed for clear high-definition viewing. It features a true 16:9 aspect ratio and a built-in digital tuner. Multiple HDMI ports allow for connection of various multimedia devices.

3. Setup

3.1 Attaching the Stand

Carefully place the TV screen-down on a soft, clean surface to prevent scratches. Align the stand feet with the mounting holes on the bottom of the TV. Secure the feet using the provided screws.

3.2 Connecting Power

Plug the power cord into the AC IN port on the back of the TV, then plug the other end into a standard electrical outlet (AC 120V, 60Hz).

3.3 Connecting External Devices

The TV features HDMI ports for connecting high-definition devices such as Blu-ray players, game consoles, or cable/satellite boxes. Use an HDMI cable to connect your device to any available HDMI port on the TV.

  • HDMI: For digital audio/video connection.
  • Antenna/Cable In: For connecting an antenna or cable TV signal.
  • USB: For media playback from USB storage devices.
  • Audio Out: For connecting external audio systems or headphones.

4. Operating the TV

4.1 Initial Setup Wizard

Upon first power-on, the TV will guide you through an initial setup wizard. This includes selecting your preferred language (English, Spanish, French), scanning for channels (if using an antenna), and setting the time zone.

4.2 Basic Functions

  • Power On/Off: Press the Power button on the remote or on the TV.
  • Volume Control: Use the VOL +/- buttons on the remote.
  • Channel Change: Use the CH +/- buttons on the remote.
  • Input Selection: Press the INPUT or SOURCE button on the remote to cycle through available input sources (HDMI 1, HDMI 2, TV, USB, etc.).
  • Menu Navigation: Use the directional arrows and OK/ENTER button on the remote to navigate the on-screen menu.

4.3 On-Screen Display (OSD) Menu

The OSD menu allows you to adjust various settings of the TV, including Picture, Sound, Channel, Time, Setup, and Lock options.

  • Picture Settings: Adjust brightness, contrast, color, tint, sharpness, and picture mode (Standard, Dynamic, Movie, User).
  • Sound Settings: Adjust bass, treble, balance, sound mode (Standard, Music, Movie, User), and enable/disable surround sound.
  • Channel Settings: Perform auto scan, manual scan, and edit channel lists.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Screen

Gently wipe the screen with a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn marks, dampen the cloth with a small amount of water or a specialized screen cleaner. Do not spray liquid directly onto the screen.

5.2 Cleaning the Cabinet

Wipe the TV cabinet with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that may damage the finish.

5.3 Energy Efficiency
