3. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance of your solar flood light. Choose a location that receives ample direct sunlight for the solar panel and provides the desired illumination coverage for the light fixture.

3.1 Choosing a Location

• Solar Panel: Mount the solar panel in an area that receives at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily. Avoid shaded areas from trees, buildings, or other obstructions.
• Light Fixture: Install the light fixture on a wall or sturdy surface at a height of 2.4-3.6 meters (8-12 feet) for optimal motion detection and light spread. Ensure the motion sensor is facing the area you wish to monitor.

3.2 Mounting the Fixture and Solar Panel

1. Mark the drilling points for the light fixture and solar panel bracket on your chosen surfaces.
2. Drill holes and insert wall anchors if mounting into masonry or drywall.
3. Securely attach the light fixture and solar panel bracket using the provided screws.
4. Adjust the angle of the solar panel to maximize sun exposure. The solar panel can be adjusted up to 90 degrees vertically and 360 degrees horizontally.
5. Connect the cable from the solar panel to the light fixture. Ensure the connection is tight to prevent water ingress.

4. Operating Instructions

Your SOLLA flood light is designed for automatic operation, charging during the day and activating at night when motion is detected. It offers adjustable settings for time and distance.

4.1 Motion Sensor Settings

The motion sensor has two adjustable dials: TIME and DISTANCE. These dials are located on the underside of the motion sensor unit.

• TIME (Auto-off Time): This setting determines how long the light stays on after motion is detected and no further motion is sensed.
  • L (Low): Approximately 30 seconds
  • M (Medium): Approximately 60 seconds
  • H (High): Approximately 120 seconds
  • TEST: For initial setup and testing, the light will stay on for a short period (e.g., 10-20 seconds) regardless of motion.
• DISTANCE (Sensing Distance): This setting controls the range at which the motion sensor detects movement.
  • L (Low): Approximately 6 meters (20 feet)
  • M (Medium): Approximately 10 meters (33 feet)
  • H (High): Approximately 15 meters (49 feet)

The motion sensor has a 180-degree detection angle and is designed to be triggered by humans, animals, and cars within its sensing area.

4.2 Operating Modes

• AUTO MODE (Only works at night): This is the standard operating mode. The light will automatically turn ON for the pre-determined time (set by the TIME dial) when motion is detected within the sensing area and will turn OFF if no further motion is detected. This mode is active only in low-light conditions.
• PERMANENT ON (Work both day & night): The light can be set to stay on continuously for a limited period (approximately 75-90 minutes). This mode can be used as an emergency light or for temporary continuous illumination. To activate, typically you would cycle the power or use a specific setting on the sensor (refer to the 'TEST' setting or a specific switch if available, though not explicitly shown on the dial image).
