Important Safety Instructions

Please read all instructions carefully before using your Mixpresso 8-Cup Drip Coffee Maker. Keep this manual for future reference.

  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  • To protect against fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, do not immerse cord, plugs, or the appliance in water or other liquid.

  • Do not place a hot carafe on a wet or cold surface.
  • Do not use a cracked carafe or a carafe having a loose or weakened handle.
  • Do not clean carafe with cleansers, steel wool pads, or other abrasive materials.
  • This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.

Setup and First Use

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and labels from the coffee maker.
  2. Cleaning: Before first use, wash the carafe, lid, and reusable filter in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.
  3. Initial Rinse Cycle:
    • Fill the water reservoir with clean water up to the "8 CUP" mark.
    • Place the empty reusable filter into the filter basket.
    • Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
    • Close the lid and plug the coffee maker into a standard electrical outlet.
    • Press the ON/OFF button to start a brewing cycle without coffee grounds.
    • Once the cycle is complete, discard the water from the carafe. Your coffee maker is now ready for use.

Operating Instructions

Brewing Coffee

  1. Fill Water Reservoir: Open the lid and pour fresh, cold water into the water reservoir. Use the water level window on the side to fill to your desired number of cups (up to 8 cups).
  2. Add Coffee Grounds: Place the reusable filter into the filter basket. Add your desired amount of ground coffee into the reusable filter. For best results, use approximately one tablespoon of ground coffee per cup.
  3. Position Carafe: Ensure the carafe is properly placed on the warming plate.
  4. Start Brewing: Close the lid securely. Plug the coffee maker into an electrical outlet. Press the illuminated ON/OFF button to begin the brewing cycle. The indicator light will illuminate.
  5. Anti-Drip Feature: You can temporarily remove the carafe during the brewing cycle to pour a cup of coffee. The anti-drip mechanism will stop the flow of coffee. Return the carafe to the warming plate within 30 seconds to prevent overflow.
  6. Keep Warm: After brewing is complete, the warming plate will keep the coffee hot. The coffee maker will automatically shut off after approximately 2 hours.

Setting the Clock and Programmed Brewing

This model features programmable controls for convenience.

  1. Set Current Time:
    • Press the "HR" button to set the hour. Hold to advance quickly.
    • Press the "MIN" button to set the minute. Hold to advance quickly.
    • Ensure AM/PM is correctly set.
  2. Program Auto-Brew Time:
    • Press the "PROG" button. The display will show "SET TIME".
    • Use the "HR" and "MIN" buttons to set your desired brew start time.
    • Press the "PROG" button again to confirm the programmed time.
    • To activate the programmed brew, press the "AUTO (ON/OFF)" button. The indicator light will illuminate, and the coffee maker will start brewing at the set time.

Care and Maintenance

  1. Daily Cleaning:
    • After each use, unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool completely.
    • Remove the reusable filter and discard used coffee grounds. Rinse the filter and filter basket under running water.
    • Wash the carafe and its lid in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
    • Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker and warming plate with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  2. Descaling (Monthly or Bi-Monthly): Mineral deposits from water can affect coffee taste and brewing performance.
    • Fill the water reservoir with a mixture of 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts water.
    • Place an empty reusable filter in the filter basket and the empty carafe on the warming plate.
    • Run a brewing cycle. After about half the mixture has brewed, turn off the coffee maker and let it soak for at least 15 minutes to allow the vinegar to clean the internal components.
    • Turn the coffee maker back on and allow the remaining mixture to brew through.
    • Discard the vinegar solution and run 2-3 cycles with fresh, clean water to rinse thoroughly.

Troubleshooting
