Setup
Power Connection:
- Unpack the clock radio and all accessories.
- Connect the provided AC power adapter to the DC IN jack located on the back of the unit.
- Plug the AC power adapter into a standard electrical outlet. The unit is bivolt and will adapt to local voltage.
Battery Backup (Optional but Recommended):
For memory backup of time and alarm settings during power outages, install two AAA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment on the back of the unit. Ensure correct polarity (+/-) when inserting batteries.
Operating Instructions
Setting the Time:
- Press and hold the CLK button until the display starts flashing.
- Press the HOUR button repeatedly to set the hour. The clock operates in 24-hour format.
- Press the MIN button repeatedly to set the minute.
- Press the CLK button again to confirm and save the time. The display will stop flashing.
Setting Alarms (Alarm 1 and Alarm 2):
The RR736 features two independent alarms. The procedure is identical for both.
- Press and hold the AL1 (for Alarm 1) or AL2 (for Alarm 2) button until the alarm time display starts flashing.
- Press the HOUR button to set the desired alarm hour.
- Press the MIN button to set the desired alarm minute.
- Press the AL1 or AL2 button again to confirm the alarm time.
- Immediately after setting the time, press the AL1 or AL2 button repeatedly to cycle through alarm modes: OFF > BUZZER > RADIO. Select your preferred alarm mode. An indicator light on the front panel will show the active alarm and its mode.
Snooze Function:
When an alarm sounds, press the SNOOZE button (often integrated with the SOURCE/ALARM OFF button or a dedicated button on top). The alarm will temporarily stop and sound again after approximately 9 minutes.
Stopping the Alarm:
To turn off the alarm completely until the next set time, press the SOURCE/ALARM OFF button once. The alarm indicator light will remain on, indicating the alarm is armed for the next day.
To disable an alarm permanently, follow the alarm setting steps and select OFF as the alarm mode.
Radio Operation (AM/FM):
- Press the SOURCE button to switch to FM or AM radio mode. The current frequency will be displayed.
- Extend the FM wire antenna fully for better FM reception. For AM reception, rotate the unit for optimal signal.
- Press the TUN+ or TUN- buttons to manually tune to a desired frequency.
- To auto-scan for the next available station, press and hold TUN+ or TUN- for a few seconds until the frequency starts scanning.
Storing and Recalling Radio Presets:
The unit can store up to 10 radio stations.
- Tune to the desired radio station.
- Press and hold the MEM button until "P01" (or the next available preset number) flashes on the display.
- Use the TUN+ or TUN- buttons to select the desired preset number (P01-P10).
- Press the MEM button again to confirm and save the station to the selected preset.
- To recall a preset station, simply press the MEM button repeatedly to cycle through the stored stations.
Display Dimmer:
Press the DIMMER button to adjust the brightness of the LED display. Cycle through available brightness levels (e.g., High, Medium, Low, Off).
Auxiliary Input:
The RR736 features an auxiliary input for connecting external audio devices. Connect a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) from your device's headphone jack to the AUX IN port on the back of the clock radio. Press the SOURCE button until "AUX" appears on the display. Audio from your external device will now play through the clock radio's speaker.
