5. Cooking Tips
- Convection Cooking: When using the convection function, it is often recommended to reduce the recipe's temperature by 25°F (15°C) and/or reduce the cooking time by 20-30% compared to conventional oven recipes.
- Preheating: For best results, always allow the oven to preheat fully before placing food inside, especially for baking and roasting.
- Even Cooking: Rotate food halfway through the cooking cycle for more even browning, particularly with larger items.
- Rack Positions: Utilize the multiple rack positions to optimize cooking for different food types. Higher positions are good for broiling, middle for baking, and lower for larger roasts.
- Avoid Overcrowding: Do not overcrowd the oven. Allow space for air circulation, especially when using convection.
6. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning will help maintain the performance and appearance of your De'Longhi Convection Oven.
Before Cleaning:
- Always unplug the oven from the electrical outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
Exterior Cleaning:
- Wipe the exterior surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may scratch the finish.
- Dry thoroughly after cleaning.
Interior Cleaning:
- The oven features a non-stick interior for easier cleaning. Wipe the interior with a damp cloth and mild detergent. For stubborn stains, a non-abrasive liquid cleanser can be used.
- Avoid using metal scouring pads or harsh abrasive cleaners on the interior.
Crumb Tray:
- Pull out the removable crumb tray from the bottom of the oven.
- Discard crumbs and wipe the tray with a damp cloth. It can also be washed in warm, soapy water.
