2. Probe Placement
The thermometer features a wired probe for external temperature measurement. Place the main unit outside the refrigerator or freezer, using its magnetic back to attach it to a metal surface, or place it on a flat surface. Route the wired probe into the refrigerator or freezer, ensuring the probe tip is positioned where temperature monitoring is desired. Ensure the cable does not interfere with the door seal.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off
The thermometer powers on automatically upon battery insertion. There is no dedicated power button. To turn off, remove the battery.
2. Temperature Display (IN/OUT)
The display shows two temperatures: "IN" for the ambient temperature measured by the main unit, and "OUT" for the temperature measured by the wired probe. The "OUT" temperature is typically used for the fridge/freezer interior.
3. Switching Temperature Units (°C/°F)
Press the "UNIT(IN)" button located on the front of the thermometer to switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) display modes.
4. Max/Min Temperature Record
Press the "MAX/MIN" button to view the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded since the last reset. Pressing it once displays the maximum temperature, pressing it again displays the minimum temperature. A third press returns to the current temperature display.
To reset the Max/Min records, press and hold the "MAX/MIN" button for approximately 3 seconds while the Max or Min temperature is displayed.
5. Setting Temperature Alarms
The thermometer features a temperature warning alarm. To set the high and low temperature limits for the alarm:
- Press and hold the "ALARM" button (bell icon) for approximately 2 seconds. The display will show "HIGH" and "OUT" blinking.
- Press the "UNIT(IN)" button to adjust the desired high temperature limit. Hold the button for faster adjustment.
- Press the "ALARM" button again. The display will show "LOW" and "OUT" blinking.
- Press the "UNIT(IN)" button to adjust the desired low temperature limit. Hold the button for faster adjustment.
- Press the "ALARM" button once more to confirm and exit the alarm setting mode.
When the temperature measured by the probe ("OUT") exceeds the set high limit or falls below the set low limit, the alarm will sound intermittently (e.g., a few seconds every minute) and the alarm icon will flash on the display.
Maintenance
Cleaning
To clean the thermometer unit and probe, wipe with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the display or casing.
Battery Replacement
When the display becomes dim or the unit stops functioning, replace the AAA battery. Follow the battery installation steps in the Setup section.
Troubleshooting
- No Display / Dim Display: Check battery polarity. Replace battery if necessary.
- Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the probe is correctly positioned and not obstructed. Allow sufficient time for the temperature to stabilize.
- Alarm Not Sounding: Verify that the high and low alarm limits are set correctly and are not inverted (e.g., high limit lower than low limit). Ensure the alarm function is enabled (alarm icon visible).
- Probe Cable Stiff: The probe cable is designed to be durable. Ensure it does not prevent the refrigerator/freezer door from sealing properly.
