Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the unit from its packaging. Retain the packaging for future transport or storage.
- Placement: Place the unit on a flat, stable surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive dust or moisture. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
- Power Connection: Connect the AC power cord to the unit's power input and then to a standard wall outlet.
- Initial Turntable Setup: Remove any protective shipping materials from the turntable platter and tonearm. Ensure the tonearm is unlocked from its rest.
Operating
Turntable Operation
- Lift the top lid of the unit.
- Place a vinyl record on the turntable platter. If playing a 45 RPM single, place the included 45 RPM adapter on the center spindle first.
- Select the appropriate speed (33 1/3, 45, or 78 RPM) using the speed selector switch located near the tonearm.
- Rotate the 'Tape/CD/Radio/Phono' knob to the 'Phono' position.
- Gently lift the tonearm from its rest and move it over the desired starting groove of the record.
- Lower the tonearm slowly onto the record. The music will begin to play.
- Adjust the volume using the 'Volume' knob on the front panel.
- At the end of the record, the tonearm will automatically return to its rest (if auto-stop is enabled). Otherwise, manually lift the tonearm and return it to its rest.
Radio Operation
- Rotate the 'Tape/CD/Radio/Phono' knob to the 'Radio' position.
- Press the 'AM/FM' button to select between AM and FM bands.
- Rotate the 'Tuning' knob to select your desired radio station. The frequency will be displayed on the analog dial.
- Adjust the volume using the 'Volume' knob.
CD Player Operation
- Rotate the 'Tape/CD/Radio/Phono' knob to the 'CD' position.
- Press the 'Open/Close' button on the front panel to open the CD tray.
- Place a CD with the label side facing up into the tray.
- Press the 'Open/Close' button again to close the CD tray. The unit will read the disc.
- Press the 'Play/Pause' button to start playback.
- Use the 'Skip' buttons (forward/backward) to navigate between tracks.
- Press the 'Stop' button to stop playback.
Cassette Player Operation
- Rotate the 'Tape/CD/Radio/Phono' knob to the 'Tape' position.
- Insert a cassette tape into the cassette deck slot located on the side of the unit.
- The tape will begin to play automatically.
- Use the control buttons on the cassette deck for Play, Fast Forward, Rewind, and Stop.
- To eject the tape, press the 'Eject' button located next to the cassette slot.
Aux-in Connection
- Connect one end of the included auxiliary cable to the 'Line In' jack on the front panel of the unit.
- Connect the other end of the auxiliary cable to the headphone jack or audio output of your external device (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player).
- Rotate the 'Tape/CD/Radio/Phono' knob to the 'CD' position (or any other mode, as Aux-in typically overrides other audio inputs).
- Start playback on your external device.
- Adjust the volume using the 'Volume' knob on the unit and/or your external device.
Bluetooth Connection
- Rotate the 'Tape/CD/Radio/Phono' knob to the 'CD' position. The unit will automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode, indicated by a flashing 'BT' on the digital display.
- Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone or other Bluetooth-enabled device.
- Search for 'Crosley Musician' (or similar name) in your device's Bluetooth settings and select it to pair.
- Once successfully paired, the 'BT' indicator will stop flashing and remain solid.
- Start playing music on your Bluetooth device. The audio will stream wirelessly to the Crosley unit.
- Adjust the volume using the 'Volume' knob on the unit and/or your Bluetooth device.
Maintenance
- Cleaning the Unit: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior of the unit. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Stylus Care: The stylus (needle) is a delicate component. Clean it periodically with a soft brush, brushing from back to front. Replace the stylus if you notice a decrease in sound quality or visible damage.
- Record Care: Keep your records clean and free of dust to prolong their life and the life of the stylus. Store records vertically in their sleeves.
- CD/Cassette Care: Handle CDs by their edges. Keep cassette tapes away from strong magnetic fields.
