Setup Guide

1. Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge the JBL Pulse 3. Connect the provided Micro USB cable to the charging port on the speaker and the other end to the power adaptor. Plug the power adaptor into a wall outlet. The LED indicators on the speaker will show charging progress. A full charge takes approximately 12 hours.

2. Powering On/Off

Press and hold the Power button (⏻) located on the control panel until the speaker powers on or off. You will hear an audible cue.

3. Bluetooth Pairing

When powered on for the first time, the JBL Pulse 3 will automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode. The Bluetooth indicator light will flash. On your device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), enable Bluetooth and select "JBL Pulse 3" from the list of available devices. Once connected, the Bluetooth indicator will glow solid. To manually enter pairing mode, press the Bluetooth button (␦) on the speaker.

Operating Your JBL Pulse 3

1. Adjusting Volume

Use the Volume Up (+) and Volume Down (-) buttons on the speaker to adjust the audio output level.

2. Controlling Music Playback

Press the Play/Pause button (►) to play or pause music. Double-press to skip to the next track.

3. Managing the 360° Light Show

Press the Light Mode button (☀) to cycle through different pre-set light show themes. You can also customize and create new light shows using the JBL Connect app on your smartphone or tablet.

4. JBL Connect+

The JBL Connect+ feature allows you to wirelessly link multiple JBL Connect+ enabled speakers together for a synchronized audio experience. Press the JBL Connect+ button (≈) on all desired speakers to connect them. For best results, ensure all speakers are within close proximity.

To synchronize light shows across multiple Pulse 3 speakers, simply shake one of the connected speakers. The light show will then synchronize across all linked Pulse 3 devices.

5. Speakerphone Functionality

When a call comes in, press the Play/Pause button to answer. Press again to end the call. The built-in noise and echo-cancelling speakerphone ensures clear conversations.

Care and Maintenance

Cleaning

Gently wipe the speaker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. Ensure the charging port cover is securely closed before cleaning or exposing to water.

Waterproof Rating (IPX7)

The JBL Pulse 3 is IPX7 waterproof, meaning it can be immersed in water up to 1 meter (3.3 feet) for up to 30 minutes. Ensure all port covers are tightly sealed before exposing the speaker to water. Do not expose the speaker to salt water or other liquids besides fresh water.
