4.1 Front Panel Controls

5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation and Charging

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the radio.
2. Open the battery compartment cover.
3. Insert the included BL-5C Li-ion battery, ensuring the correct polarity (+ and - terminals match the markings inside the compartment).
4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Charging the Battery:

1. Connect the small end of the USB charging cable to the "CHARGE" port on the side of the radio.
2. Connect the standard USB end of the cable to a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.
3. The charging indicator on the radio (if present, usually on the display) will show charging status.
4. A full charge typically takes 3-5 hours. Disconnect the charger once fully charged.

5.2 Initial Power On

After installing and charging the battery, press and hold the power button (often integrated with the FUN button or a dedicated button, refer to specific button labels on your unit) to turn on the radio. The LCD display will light up.

6.1 Power On/Off

To turn the unit ON, press and hold the FUN button for a few seconds. To turn the unit OFF, press and hold the FUN button again until the display turns off.

6.2 Radio Operation (AM/FM/SW)

1. Select Band: Press the AM, FM, or SW button to select the desired radio band.
2. Extend Antenna: For optimal FM and Shortwave reception, fully extend the telescopic antenna. For AM reception, the internal ferrite bar antenna is used, so antenna position is less critical.
3. Tuning:
   • Manual Tuning: Rotate the Tuning Dial on the front panel to manually scan for stations.
   • Automatic Scan: Press and hold the Play/Pause button (or a dedicated scan button if available) to automatically scan and store available stations.
   • Preset Recall: Use the Previous and Next buttons to cycle through stored preset stations.
4. Volume Adjustment: Rotate the VOL. wheel on the side to adjust the listening volume.

6.3 MP3 Player Operation

The KA345 supports MP3 audio files from Micro-SD cards (up to 32GB) and USB flash drives.

1. Insert Media: Insert a Micro-SD card into the Micro-SD slot or a USB flash drive into the USB-A port on the top of the radio.
2. Select MP3 Mode: The radio should automatically switch to MP3 mode. If not, press the FUN button repeatedly until "MP3" or a similar indicator appears on the display.
3. Playback Controls:
   • Press Play/Pause (►/−) to start or pause playback.
   • Press Previous (◀◀) to go to the beginning of the current track or the previous track.
   • Press Next (►►) to skip to the next track.

   • Press SET one more time to save the time.
2. Setting the Alarm:
   • Press the FUN button until the alarm icon appears or you enter alarm setting mode.
   • Press and hold SET until the alarm hour digits flash.
   • Adjust the alarm hour and minute using Previous and Next, pressing SET to confirm each.
   • After setting the time, you may be prompted to enable/disable the alarm or select an alarm source (e.g., buzzer, radio). Use Previous and Next to choose, then SET to confirm.
3. Disabling Alarm: When the alarm sounds, press any button to snooze or turn off. To permanently disable, navigate to the alarm setting and turn it off.

6.5 Sleep Timer

The sleep timer allows the radio to automatically turn off after a set period.

1. Press the FUN button repeatedly until the sleep timer icon or setting appears.
2. Use the Previous and Next buttons to select the desired sleep duration (e.g., 15, 30, 60, 90 minutes, or OFF).
3. Press SET to confirm your selection. The radio will turn off automatically after the chosen time.

6.6 Headphone Use

To listen privately, plug any standard 3.5mm stereo headphones into the headphone jack on the side of the radio. The internal speaker will automatically mute.

• Cleaning: Wipe the radio's exterior with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
