5. Setup

5.1. Loading Printer Paper

  1. Gently open the clear cover of the printer compartment.
  2. Insert a new roll of thermal paper, ensuring the paper feeds from the bottom of the roll.
  3. Pull a small length of paper out and close the cover, ensuring the paper exits through the slot.

5.2. Connecting to the Vehicle Battery

  1. Ensure the vehicle ignition is off and all accessories are disconnected.
  2. Connect the red positive (+) clamp to the positive battery terminal.
  3. Connect the black negative (-) clamp to the negative battery terminal.

6.1. Battery Test

  1. From the main menu, select 'Battery Test' using the 'Forward'/'Back' buttons and press 'Enter'.

6.2. Alternator Test (Charging System Test)

This function evaluates the vehicle's charging system, including the alternator's performance.

  1. From the main menu, select 'Alternator Test' and press 'Enter'.
  2. The tester will guide you through a series of steps, which typically include:
    • Starting the vehicle engine.
    • Running the engine at idle.
    • Increasing engine RPM to a specified level (e.g., 2000 RPM).
    • Turning on electrical loads (e.g., headlights, fan).

7.2. Printer Paper Replacement

When the printer runs out of paper, follow the steps in Section 5.1 to replace the roll. Use only thermal paper compatible with the BT2014.

7.3. Storage

Store the tester in its protective carry-case in a dry, cool environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Disconnect the battery clamps before storage.
