This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, and maintaining your RIVA FESTIVAL Smart Speaker. Please read these instructions carefully before using your device to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Setup

1. Initial Power On

  1. Connect the 72-inch power cord to the RIVA FESTIVAL speaker and then to a power outlet.
  2. The speaker will power on automatically. Wait for the LED light ring around the play/pause button to change from pulsing blue to pulsing white. This indicates the speaker is ready for connection.

2. Connecting to Wi-Fi (Google Home App)

For multi-room audio and voice control features, connect your RIVA FESTIVAL speaker to your Wi-Fi network using the Google Home app.

  1. Download and open the Google Home app on your smartphone or tablet.
  2. Ensure your mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network you intend to use for the speaker.
  3. The app should automatically detect the RIVA FESTIVAL speaker. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the Wi-Fi setup.
  4. During the setup, the speaker's LED light will change from pulsing white to solid white once successfully connected to Wi-Fi.

3. Connecting via Bluetooth

  1. Press and hold the Bluetooth button (usually indicated by a Bluetooth icon) on the speaker's top panel for 3 seconds until the LED light turns blue and pulses. This puts the speaker in pairing mode.
  2. On your mobile device, go to Bluetooth settings and select "RIVA FESTIVAL" from the list of available devices.
  3. Once connected, the LED light on the speaker will turn solid blue. You can now play audio from your device via Bluetooth.

4. Connecting via Aux-in or Optical

The RIVA FESTIVAL speaker supports direct audio input via 3.5mm Aux-in and Optical connections.

  1. Connect your audio source (e.g., TV, MP3 player) to the corresponding AUX or OPTICAL port on the rear of the speaker.
  2. Use the input source button on the speaker's top panel to cycle through inputs until the LED light indicates the correct source (Red for Aux, Purple for Optical).

Operating the Speaker

1. Basic Controls

  • Volume Up/Down: Use the '+' and '-' buttons on the top panel.
  • Play/Pause: Press the play/pause button in the center of the top panel.
  • Track Skip: Use the forward and backward arrow buttons to skip tracks.
  • Input Source: Press the input source button to cycle through available audio inputs (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Aux, Optical).

2. Voice Control with Google Assistant

Once connected to Wi-Fi and linked to your Google account via the Google Home app, you can use voice commands through a Google Assistant device (sold separately) or the Google Assistant app to control your RIVA FESTIVAL speaker.

  • Say "Hey Google" followed by your command (e.g., "Play music on RIVA FESTIVAL," "Turn up the volume").
  • To mute the microphone on the speaker, press and hold the microphone button on the top panel.

3. Multi-Room Audio

The RIVA FESTIVAL is part of the RIVA WAND Series, allowing for multi-room audio. Use the Google Home app to group multiple compatible speakers and play synchronized audio throughout your home.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the speaker's surfaces. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Placement: Place the speaker on a stable, flat surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
  • Power: Disconnect the power cord during lightning storms or when unused for long periods.

Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Ensure the power cord is securely connected to both the speaker and a working power outlet.
  • No Sound: Check the volume levels on both the speaker and your audio source. Verify the correct input source is selected.
  • Wi-Fi Connectivity Issues: Ensure your Wi-Fi router is on and within range. Try restarting both the speaker and your router. Re-run the Wi-Fi setup process via the Google Home app if necessary.
  • Bluetooth Pairing Issues: Ensure the speaker is in Bluetooth pairing mode (pulsing blue LED). Check your device's Bluetooth settings and try forgetting and re-pairing the speaker.
  • Speaker Unresponsive: Disconnect the power cord, wait 10 seconds, and then reconnect it to perform a soft reset.
