The Bose Soundwear Companion is a wireless wearable speaker designed to provide immersive sound while allowing you to remain aware of your surroundings. It features patented waveguide technology and digital signal processing for clear, rich audio. The flexible design ensures comfort for extended wear, and it includes a three-button control for managing calls, music, and voice assistants.

Setup
1. Charging the Speaker
Before initial use, fully charge your Soundwear Companion speaker. A full charge provides up to 12 hours of playback. A quick 15-minute charge can provide up to 3 hours of performance.
- Connect the small end of the USB cable to the Micro-B USB port on the speaker.
- Connect the other end of the USB cable to a USB wall charger (not included) or a computer that is powered on.
- The battery indicator lights will illuminate during charging and turn solid white when fully charged.

2. Bluetooth Pairing
Pair your speaker with your mobile device to enjoy wireless audio.
- Press and hold the Power button until you hear "Ready to pair" and the Bluetooth indicator blinks blue.
- On your mobile device, enable Bluetooth and select "Bose Soundwear Companion" from the list of available devices.
- Once connected, you will hear "Connected to [device name]" and the Bluetooth indicator will glow solid white.
Operating Instructions
Wearing the Speaker
The Soundwear Companion is designed to rest comfortably on your shoulders. Its flexible, bend-and-stay steel wire encased in medical-grade silicone adapts to your body shape.

Controls
The speaker features a three-button control system for easy management of audio and calls.
- Power Button: Press and hold to power on/off.
- Volume Buttons (+/-): Adjust audio volume.
- Multi-function Button (center):
- Press once to play/pause music.
- Press once to answer/end a call.
- Press and hold to access your phone's voice assistant (Siri or Google Assistant).

Call Handling
An advanced microphone system ensures clear calls even in noisy environments. You can choose between vibration and out-loud alerts for incoming calls.
- To answer a call, press the Multi-function button once.
- To end a call, press the Multi-function button once.
- To decline a call, press and hold the Multi-function button.
Maintenance
Cleaning the Protective Cover
The speaker comes with a four-way stretchable cover that is acoustically transparent and designed to resist dust and static. This cover is removable and washable.
- Gently unzip the cover from the speaker.
- Hand wash the cover with mild soap and water, or machine wash on a gentle cycle.
- Allow the cover to air dry completely before reattaching it to the speaker.

Sweat and Weather Resistance
The Soundwear Companion speaker is sweat and weather resistant with an IPX4 rating, meaning it can withstand splashing water from any direction. It is not designed to be submerged in water.
Troubleshooting
- Microphone Not Picking Up Sound:
- Ensure the microphone opening on the left side of the speaker is not blocked.
- Try another phone call or a different compatible device.
- Poor Sound Quality:
- Use a different music source.
- Connect a different device.
- Disconnect any second device if two are connected.
- Disable any audio enhancement features on the connected device or music application.
- Bluetooth Connection Issues:
- Ensure the speaker is within the 9-meter (30 feet) Bluetooth range of your device.
- Clear the Bluetooth device list on your mobile device and re-pair.
- Restart both the speaker and your mobile device.
