Setup

Mounting the Riflescope

The Simmons Truplex .22 Mag Riflescope comes with mounting rings. These rings are designed to fit a narrow width rail, such as a 3/8" dovetail rail. Please note that they may not fit a standard Weaver/Picatinny rail. If your rifle has a Weaver/Picatinny rail, you may need to acquire compatible 1-inch Weaver/Picatinny rings for proper installation. Ensure the rings are securely fastened to the rifle's base and the riflescope is level before tightening completely.

Eyepiece Adjustment (Diopter)

To achieve a clear reticle image, adjust the eyepiece. Point the riflescope at a plain, bright background (like a wall or the sky) and rotate the eyepiece until the reticle appears sharp and clear. This adjustment compensates for individual eyesight differences.

Windage and Elevation Adjustments

The riflescope features capped windage and elevation turrets. Remove the protective caps to access the adjustment dials. Each click of the dial adjusts the point of impact by 1/4 MOA (Minute of Angle) at 100 yards. Turn the dials to move the point of impact as needed for zeroing. The adjustments are designed to be precise and hold their position even under recoil.

Operating the Riflescope

Magnification Adjustment

The Simmons Truplex .22 Mag Riflescope offers a variable magnification range of 3-9x. To change the magnification, rotate the knurled ring located near the eyepiece. Adjust to your desired power setting based on target distance and shooting conditions.

Target Acquisition

Utilize the QTA eyepiece for quick target acquisition. With proper eye relief (approximately 3.75 inches), you should be able to quickly and clearly see your target through the scope. The Truplex reticle provides a clear aiming point.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Lenses

To clean the lenses, first use a soft brush or compressed air to remove any loose dust or debris. Then, apply a small amount of lens cleaning solution to a microfiber lens cloth and gently wipe the lens surfaces. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the lens coatings.

Storage

Store your riflescope in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use the provided lens caps to protect the objective and eyepiece lenses from dust and scratches when not in use.

Troubleshooting

Blurry Image

  • Ensure the eyepiece (diopter) is correctly adjusted for your vision.
  • Check for condensation or debris on the lenses. Clean as per the maintenance section.

Adjustments Not Holding Zero

  • Verify that the mounting rings are securely tightened to both the riflescope and the rifle's rail.
  • Ensure the windage and elevation turret caps are securely replaced after adjustment.
