The ZKTeco WL10 is a wireless fingerprint time and attendance terminal designed for efficient employee management. It integrates a fingerprint sensor, a 2.8-inch TFT display, and Wi-Fi connectivity to provide a reliable solution for recording attendance data. This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your WL10 device.

5. Setup

5.1. Mounting the Device

  1. Choose a suitable location for installation, ensuring it is easily accessible for users and away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
  2. Use the provided mounting template (if available) to mark the drilling positions on the wall.
  3. Drill holes and insert wall plugs.
  4. Secure the device to the wall using the provided screws.

5.2. Power Connection

Connect the supplied power adapter to the device's power port and then plug it into a power outlet. The device will power on automatically.

5.3. Initial Configuration and Wi-Fi Setup

  1. Upon first power-on, the device may prompt for initial settings like date, time, and language. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  2. To configure Wi-Fi:
    • Press the M/OK button to enter the main menu.
    • Navigate to Comm. or Network settings.
    • Select Wi-Fi and enable it.
    • Scan for available networks and select your desired Wi-Fi network.
    • Enter the Wi-Fi password using the keypad and confirm.
    • Once connected, the Wi-Fi icon will appear on the display.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. User Registration

Before users can record attendance, they must be registered in the system.

  1. Press M/OK to enter the main menu.
  2. Navigate to User Manage > New User.
  3. Enter a unique User ID (e.g., 1 to 1000).
  4. Select Enroll Finger. Place the user's finger on the sensor three times, lifting it slightly between each placement. Ensure full contact.
  5. Optionally, enroll a password or card (if supported).
  6. Save the user information.

6.2. Recording Attendance (Check-in/Check-out)

The WL10 supports various methods for data management.

6.3.1. Self-Service Recorder (SSR) Report

The SSR function allows users to download attendance reports directly to a USB flash drive without needing software.

  1. Insert a formatted USB flash drive into the device's USB Host port.
  2. Press M/OK to enter the main menu.
  3. Navigate to Report or USB Disk > Download Report.
  4. Select the desired report type (e.g., Attendance Log, User Info) and confirm.
  5. The report will be saved to the USB drive in a readable format (e.g., Excel).
