4.1. Front Panel
- 2.8-inch TFT Display: Shows date, time, attendance status, menu options, and user information.

5. Setup
5.1. Mounting the Device
- Choose a suitable location for installation, ensuring it is easily accessible for users and away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
- Use the provided mounting template (if available) to mark the drilling positions on the wall.
- Drill holes and insert wall plugs.
- Secure the device to the wall using the provided screws.
5.2. Power Connection
Connect the supplied power adapter to the device's power port and then plug it into a power outlet. The device will power on automatically.
5.3. Initial Configuration and Wi-Fi Setup
- Upon first power-on, the device may prompt for initial settings like date, time, and language. Follow the on-screen instructions.
- To configure Wi-Fi:
- Press the M/OK button to enter the main menu.
- Navigate to Comm. or Network settings.
- Select Wi-Fi and enable it.
- Scan for available networks and select your desired Wi-Fi network.
- Enter the Wi-Fi password using the keypad and confirm.
- Once connected, the Wi-Fi icon will appear on the display.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1. User Registration
Before users can record attendance, they must be registered in the system.
- Press M/OK to enter the main menu.
- Navigate to User Manage > New User.
- Enter a unique User ID (e.g., 1 to 1000).
- Select Enroll Finger. Place the user's finger on the sensor three times, lifting it slightly between each placement. Ensure full contact.
- Optionally, enroll a password or card (if supported).
- Save the user information.
6.2. Recording Attendance (Check-in/Check-out)
From the main screen:
- Place your registered finger on the fingerprint sensor.
- The device will verify the fingerprint and display a success message, recording the attendance event (e.g., "Check-in Success").
- The device automatically determines "Check-in" or "Check-out" based on the last recorded event and configured time settings.
6.3. Data Management
The WL10 supports various methods for data management.
6.3.1. Self-Service Recorder (SSR) Report
The SSR function allows users to download attendance reports directly to a USB flash drive without needing software.
- Insert a formatted USB flash drive into the device's USB Host port.
- Press M/OK to enter the main menu.
- Navigate to Report or USB Disk > Download Report.
- Select the desired report type (e.g., Attendance Log, User Info) and confirm.
- The report will be saved to the USB drive in a readable format (e.g., Excel).
6.3.2. USB Host/Client Data Transfer
- USB Host: For direct data download/upload using a USB flash drive (as described for SSR).
- USB Client: Connect the device to a computer using a USB cable. Use ZKTeco attendance management software (sold separately or available for download) to manage users, download logs, and configure advanced settings.
6.4. System Settings
Access the main menu (M/OK) to configure various system parameters:
- Date & Time: Set the correct date and time for accurate attendance records.
- Scheduled Bell: Configure specific times for the device to ring a bell (e.g., start/end of shifts).
- DST (Daylight Saving Time): Enable or disable DST as per local requirements.
- Access Control (if applicable): Configure basic access control features if the device is connected to a door lock.
- System Info: View device details, firmware version, etc.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device's exterior. For the fingerprint sensor, use a lint-free cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Data Backup: Regularly back up attendance data to a USB flash drive or computer to prevent data loss.
- Firmware Updates: Check the ZKTeco official website for any available firmware updates. Follow the instructions provided with the update package carefully.
8. Troubleshooting
