Setup
1. SD Card Preparation
Before initial use, the microSD card must be formatted within the camera. A Samsung Evo 32GB card is recommended (not included). For 64GB cards, ensure it is formatted to FAT32. Avoid using Sandisk and Transcend cards.
- Insert the microSD card into the camera.
- If the camera displays "please insert TF card" or "sd card error," press the recording button (OK button).
- Press the 'M' button to access the menu.
- Navigate to 'system setup' and select 'format'.
- Confirm to format the card.
2. Installation
Mount the dash cam securely on your vehicle's windshield using the provided suction cup mount. Position it to ensure a clear view of the road ahead and the vehicle's interior. If windshield mounts are restricted in your area, consider an adhesive mounting disk for dashboard placement (sold separately).

Figure 2: Dash Cam Installation. The diagram illustrates the recommended placement of the dash cam on the windshield and the routing of the power cable to the car's cigarette lighter socket.
3. Power Connection
Connect the dash cam to your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket using the provided car charger. The camera requires continuous power to operate. The internal 250mAh battery is primarily for saving settings and short-term power backup.
Operating Instructions
1. Recording Modes
- Dual Cam Recording: Simultaneously records the road ahead (1440x1080P@30fps) and the vehicle's interior (1280x720P@30fps). This mode is ideal for rideshare drivers.
- Single Front Cam Recording: Records only the front view in Full-HD 1920x1080P@30fps, providing clear video during day and night.

Figure 3: Dual HD Recording. This image demonstrates the simultaneous recording of the front view (1080P) and the cabin view (720P) by the dash cam.
2. Wide Angle Lenses and Adjustability
The front camera features a 170° wide-angle lens, and the interior camera has a 140° wide-angle lens. The rear camera can be adjusted 80° vertically to achieve the optimal viewing angle.

Figure 4: Wide Angle Viewing. This image highlights the extensive field of view provided by the dash cam's dual lenses, covering 170 degrees for the front and 140 degrees for the interior, with vertical adjustment for the interior lens.
3. Night Vision and HDR
Equipped with HDR technology, an F/2.0 aperture, and a 6-glass lens, the camera balances exposure to provide clear video with enhanced detail even in low-light conditions.

Figure 5: Super Night Vision. The image illustrates how advanced HDR technology in the dash cam balances exposure for clear recording in varying light conditions, from bright to dark.
4. Parking Modes
The N2 offers two parking modes, which require a constant power supply (e.g., from an external battery pack or hardwire kit, ASIN: B07G9WTWB9) when the vehicle is off:
- Motion Detection: The camera automatically begins recording when motion is detected near the front of the vehicle or an object approaches.
- Time Lapse: The camera continuously takes photos at a set interval, then compiles them into a video clip.

Figure 6: Dual Parking Modes. This image visually explains the two parking modes: Motion Detection, which triggers recording upon movement, and Time Lapse, which captures images at intervals.
5. Seamless Loop Recording and G-sensor
- Loop Recording: When the microSD card capacity is full, the camera automatically overwrites the oldest footage with new recordings.
- G-sensor: The variable sensitivity G-sensor detects sudden movements or impacts (e.g., collisions) and automatically locks the current video file to prevent it from being overwritten. This provides critical evidence.

Figure 7: G-sensor and Loop Recording. The image highlights the automatic loop recording feature, which overwrites old footage, and the G-sensor, which locks important video segments during events like collisions.
6. Audio Recording
The dash cam includes a built-in microphone and speaker for recording audio within the vehicle cabin.
7. Optional GPS Functionality
An optional GPS mount (ASIN: B07CYW6JXW, sold separately) can be purchased to enable GPS functionality. This allows you to track driving routes, location, and speed (in KM/H or MP/H) when playing back videos using the Vantrue GPS Player software.

Figure 8: Optional GPS. This image illustrates the GPS functionality, which allows tracking of driving route, location, and speed, viewable through the Vantrue GPS Player.
8. Automatic LCD Off
The LCD screen can be set to automatically turn off after recording begins, preventing distractions while driving.
Maintenance
1. SD Card Formatting
Regularly format your microSD card (at least once a month) to maintain optimal recording performance and prevent data corruption. Refer to the "SD Card Preparation" section for instructions.
2. General Care
The N2 dash cam is designed to operate in temperatures ranging from -4℉ to 158℉ (-20℃ to 70℃). Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures outside this range for prolonged periods. Keep the lenses clean using a soft, lint-free cloth to ensure clear video quality.
Troubleshooting
1. "SD Card Error" or "Please Insert TF Card" Message
This usually indicates an issue with the microSD card. Ensure the card is properly inserted. If the message persists, format the card within the camera as described in the "SD Card Preparation" section. If the issue continues, try a different, recommended microSD card (e.g., Samsung Evo 32GB or 64GB formatted to FAT32).
2. Camera Overheating
While the N2 is designed for a wide temperature range, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight in extremely hot environments can cause it to heat up. Ensure proper ventilation around the camera. If overheating leads to malfunction, allow the device to cool down. If issues persist, contact customer support.
3. Poor Night Vision Quality
Ensure the camera lenses are clean. While the N2 features HDR for low-light conditions, extreme darkness may still limit visibility. The product description mentions "infrared light provides great sharp video quality and super night vision," but a customer review indicates the IR LEDs might be for decoration. For optimal night recording, ensure your vehicle's interior lights are off to avoid glare on the interior lens.
4. Camera Not Recording
Check if the microSD card is inserted and properly formatted. Verify that the camera is receiving continuous power. Ensure loop recording is enabled to prevent the card from becoming full and stopping recordings.
