1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the safe and efficient use of your Epson Home Cinema 1060 Full HD 1080p 3LCD Projector. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the projector and keep it for future reference.

The Epson Home Cinema 1060 is designed to deliver a large-screen viewing experience with Full HD 1080p resolution. It features 3,100 lumens of color and white brightness, versatile connectivity options including two HDMI ports (one with MHL support), and a built-in speaker.

3.1 Front and Top View

The front of the projector features the projection lens and ventilation grilles. On the top panel, you will find the control buttons for power, menu navigation, source selection, and keystone correction. The focus and zoom levers are located near the lens for image adjustment.

3.2 Rear View and Connection Ports

The rear panel provides all necessary connection ports:

  • Power Input: Connects to the AC power cord.
  • HDMI 1: For connecting high-definition devices such as Blu-ray players, gaming consoles, or streaming devices.
  • HDMI 2 / MHL: Supports HDMI connections and Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL) compatible devices.
  • USB-A: For connecting USB storage devices or for power supply.
  • USB-B (Video): For connecting to a computer for video output.
  • USB-B (Audio): For connecting to a computer for audio output.

4. Setup

4.1 Placement

Place the projector on a stable, flat surface or mount it securely. Ensure adequate ventilation around the projector to prevent overheating. The projection distance will determine the image size. Refer to the Quick Setup Guide for recommended distances.

4.2 Connecting Devices

  1. Power Connection: Connect the power cord to the projector's power input and then to an electrical outlet.
  2. Video Source:
    • For high-definition sources (Blu-ray, gaming console, streaming stick): Connect an HDMI cable from your device to either the HDMI 1 or HDMI 2/MHL port on the projector.
    • For MHL-compatible mobile devices: Connect your MHL cable to the HDMI 2/MHL port.
    • For computers: Connect a VGA cable to the Computer port or a USB-B cable to the USB-B (Video) port.
    • For standard definition video: Connect an RCA composite video cable to the Video port.
  3. Audio Connection (Optional): The projector has a built-in speaker. For external audio, connect your audio source to an external sound system. If using a computer via USB-B for audio, ensure the correct audio output is selected on your computer.

4.3 Initial Power On and Image Adjustment

  1. Press the power button on the projector or remote control. The power indicator will light up.
  2. Once the image appears, use the Focus ring/lever near the lens to sharpen the image.
  3. Use the Zoom ring/lever to adjust the image size to fit your screen.
  4. If the image is distorted (trapezoidal shape), use the Keystone correction buttons on the control panel or remote to adjust it until it is rectangular.

5. Operating

5.1 Power On/Off

  • To Power On: Press the power button once.
  • To Power Off: Press the power button twice. The projector will display a confirmation message. Confirm to shut down.

5.2 Source Selection

Press the Source Search button on the control panel or remote control to cycle through available input sources (HDMI 1, HDMI 2/MHL, Computer, Video, USB-B).

5.3 Menu Navigation

Press the Menu button to access the projector's settings. Use the arrow buttons to navigate and the Enter button to select options. Press Esc to exit a menu or return to the previous screen.

5.4 Audio Adjustment

Use the volume buttons on the remote control to adjust the volume of the built-in speaker. If using external audio, adjust the volume on your external sound system.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Projector

  • Exterior: Wipe the casing with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a cloth lightly dampened with water and a mild detergent, then wipe dry.
  • Lens: Gently wipe the lens with a lens cleaning cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Air Filter: Regularly check and clean the air filter to ensure proper ventilation and prevent overheating. Refer to the full user guide for specific instructions on filter removal and cleaning.

6.2 Lamp Replacement

The projector lamp has a limited lifespan. When the lamp needs replacement, a warning message will appear on the screen, and the lamp indicator light will illuminate. Refer to the full user guide for detailed instructions on how to safely replace the lamp.

Caution: Allow the projector to cool down completely before attempting to replace the lamp.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your projector, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
