Setup

1. Charging the Handle

  1. Connect the IEC Plug Type-A charger to a standard electrical outlet.
  2. Insert the charger's plug into the charging port located at the bottom of the power handle.
  3. Allow the handle to charge for approximately 10-12 hours for the initial charge. Subsequent charges typically require 2-3 hours.
  4. A charging indicator light (if present) will illuminate during charging and may change color or turn off when fully charged. Refer to the specific charger's instructions for indicator behavior.

2. Attaching Instrument Heads

  1. Ensure the power handle is turned off.
  2. Align the base of the Welch Allyn 3.5V instrument head with the connector on the top of the power handle.
  3. Gently push the instrument head onto the handle and twist clockwise until it clicks securely into place.
  4. To remove, twist counter-clockwise and pull the instrument head off.

Operating

  1. With an instrument head securely attached, locate the rheostat control (rotary switch) on the handle.
  2. Rotate the rheostat control clockwise to turn on the light and increase its brightness.
  3. Rotate the rheostat control counter-clockwise to decrease brightness and turn off the light.
