4. Setup
Follow these steps to prepare your game for play:
- Unfold the Gameboard: Place the gameboard on a flat surface.
- Separate Cards: Separate the Title Deed cards, Smuggler cards, and Scoundrel cards. Shuffle the Smuggler cards and place them face down on the designated 'Smuggler' space on the board. Shuffle the Scoundrel cards and place them face down on the designated 'Scoundrel' space.
- Place Hideouts and Facilities: Place the Hideouts (green) and Facilities (red) near the board. These will be used to develop properties.
- Choose a Banker: One player is selected to be the Banker. The Banker is responsible for all money, Title Deeds, Hideouts, and Facilities not yet owned by players. The Banker may also play as a regular player.
- Distribute Starting Money: The Banker gives each player the following starting money:
- 2 x 500 Star Wars Credits
- 2 x 100 Star Wars Credits
- 2 x 50 Star Wars Credits
- 6 x 20 Star Wars Credits
- 5 x 10 Star Wars Credits
- 5 x 5 Star Wars Credits
- 5 x 1 Star Wars Credit
- Select Character Tokens: Each player chooses one of the four plastic character tokens and places it on the 'GO' space.
5. Operating (How to Play)
The game is played by 2 to 4 players. The goal is to be the last player with money remaining.
5.1 Game Start
Each player rolls both dice. The player with the highest total starts the game. Play proceeds clockwise.
5.2 Player Turn
On your turn, roll both dice and move your token clockwise around the board the number of spaces indicated by the dice. The space you land on determines your action.
5.3 Board Spaces
- Locations, Vehicles, Power Sources: If you land on an unowned property, you may buy it for the price printed on the board. If you choose not to buy it, the Banker immediately auctions it to the highest bidder. If you land on an owned property, you must pay rent to the owner as indicated on the Title Deed card.
- Smuggler or Scoundrel: Draw the top card from the respective deck and follow its instructions. Return the card to the bottom of the deck after use.
- Go: Passing or landing on 'GO' allows you to collect 200 Star Wars Credits from the Banker.
- Just Visiting: If you land here, you are simply visiting and take no action.
- Go to Jail: Move your token directly to the 'In Jail' space. You do not collect 200 Credits for passing 'GO'.
- Free Parking: No action is taken when landing here.
- Taxes: Pay the specified amount to the Banker.
5.4 Developing Properties
Once you own all properties in a color group, you can begin building Hideouts and Facilities. Hideouts must be built evenly across properties in a group. Facilities can only be built after four Hideouts are on each property in a group. Building increases the rent charged to other players.
5.5 Bankruptcy and Winning
If you owe more money than you can pay, you are bankrupt and out of the game. The last player remaining in the game wins.
