4. Setup and Wiring
4.1 Power Connection:
- Connect a DC 5-30V power supply to the Micro USB port on the module.
- Alternatively, power can be supplied via the V+ and V- terminals, ensuring correct polarity.
4.2 Load Connection:
The module features a single-pole double-throw (SPDT) relay with three terminals: Normally Open (NO), Common (COM), and Normally Closed (NC).
- COM (Common): This is the common terminal for the relay switch. Connect one side of your load's power source here.
- NO (Normally Open): When the relay is de-energized (off), this terminal is open (disconnected) from COM. When the relay is energized (on), it connects to COM. Use this for loads that should be off by default and turn on after the delay.
- NC (Normally Closed): When the relay is de-energized (off), this terminal is closed (connected) to COM. When the relay is energized (on), it disconnects from COM. Use this for loads that should be on by default and turn off after the delay.
Warning: Ensure the load's voltage and current do not exceed the relay's maximum ratings (10A 250VAC or 10A 30VDC).
4.3 Trigger Connection:
- Onboard Trigger: Press the 'S1' button on the module to initiate the delay cycle.
- External Trigger: Connect an external trigger signal to the 'TRIG' terminal. A low-level pulse (grounding the TRIG pin momentarily) will activate the delay.
5. Operating Instructions
The Lianshi YSJDQ module operates as a monostable (one-shot) timer. When triggered, the relay will activate for a set duration and then return to its original state.
5.1 Adjusting Delay Time:
- The delay time is adjusted using the blue potentiometer (labeled W105) on the module.
- Turn the potentiometer clockwise to increase the delay time.
- Turn the potentiometer counter-clockwise to decrease the delay time.
- The adjustable range is approximately 0 to 24 seconds. Fine-tuning may be required for precise timing.
5.2 Operation Sequence:
- Apply power to the module (5-30V DC).
- Adjust the desired delay time using the potentiometer.
- Initiate the trigger: either press the onboard 'S1' button or provide a low-level pulse to the 'TRIG' terminal.
- Upon triggering, the relay will energize (NO connects to COM, NC disconnects from COM) and remain in this state for the set delay duration.
- After the delay time expires, the relay will de-energize (NO disconnects from COM, NC connects to COM), returning to its idle state.
6. Maintenance
- Keep the module clean and free from dust and moisture.
- Avoid exposing the module to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight.
- Ensure all wiring connections are secure to prevent intermittent operation.
- Do not attempt to repair the module if you are not qualified. Contact support if issues arise.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Module does not power on. | Incorrect power supply voltage or polarity; faulty Micro USB cable/port. | Verify power supply is within 5-30V DC. Check Micro USB cable and port for damage. Ensure V+ and V- connections are correct. |
| Relay does not activate after trigger. | Trigger signal not received; potentiometer set to minimum delay (0 seconds); faulty relay. | Ensure trigger signal is correctly applied (S1 button pressed, or TRIG pin grounded). Adjust potentiometer to a non-zero delay. Test relay with a multimeter if possible. |
| Delay time is inconsistent or incorrect. | Potentiometer issue; external interference. | Carefully adjust the potentiometer. Ensure the module is not exposed to strong electromagnetic interference. |
| Load does not switch. | Incorrect wiring of load; load exceeds relay capacity; faulty load. | Review wiring to NO/COM/NC terminals. Ensure load current/voltage is within specifications. Test the load independently. |
