Setup

1. Inserting the SIM Card

The iPhone SE uses a Nano-SIM card.

  1. Locate the SIM tray on the right side of the iPhone.
  2. Insert the SIM eject tool (or a small paperclip) into the small hole on the SIM tray.
  3. Pull out the SIM tray.
  4. Place your Nano-SIM card into the tray with the gold contacts facing down and the cut corner aligned.
  5. Carefully reinsert the SIM tray into the iPhone.

2. Initial Power On and Activation

Press and hold the Power button (located on the top right edge) until the Apple logo appears. Follow the on-screen instructions to:

  • Select your language and region.
  • Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
  • Set up Touch ID (fingerprint recognition) for secure unlocking and purchases.
  • Create or sign in with your Apple ID.
  • Restore data from a backup (iCloud or iTunes) or set up as a new iPhone.

Your iPhone SE is compatible with various service providers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Ting, Mint, and SpeedTalk. It is not compatible with Verizon or Straight Talk.

Operating Your iPhone SE

Basic Navigation

  • Home Button: Press once to return to the Home screen. Double-press to open the app switcher. Use Touch ID for unlocking.
  • Touch Screen: Tap to select, swipe to scroll, pinch to zoom.
  • Side Switch (Mute/Ring): Located on the upper left side, above the volume buttons, to quickly switch between ring and silent modes.

Calls and Messaging

Use the Phone app to make and receive calls. The Messages app allows you to send and receive SMS and iMessages.

Camera Functionality

Your iPhone SE features a 12 MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, phase detection autofocus, and dual-LED (dual tone) flash, capable of capturing high-quality photos and videos. The front camera is 1.2 MP.

Connectivity

The iPhone SE supports Wi-Fi and 4G LTE cellular networks for internet access and communication.

Maintenance

Cleaning Your Device
