Setup

1. Installing Batteries

1. Open the battery compartment cover on the control unit.
2. Insert 4 AA batteries (not included) according to the polarity indicators inside the compartment.
3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Attaching to Camera Hot Shoe

1. Slide the control unit's hot shoe mount onto your camera's hot shoe.
2. Tighten the locking ring or lever on the control unit to secure it to the camera.

3. Mounting the Ring Flash to Lens

1. Select the appropriate adapter ring (40.5mm, 52mm, 55mm, 58mm, 62mm, 67mm, 72mm, or 77mm) that matches your camera lens filter thread size.
2. Screw the chosen adapter ring onto the front filter thread of your camera lens.
3. Align the Meike FC-100 ring flash unit with the adapter ring. Press the ring lock button on the flash unit.
4. Place the ring flash onto the adapter ring, then release the lock button to secure the flash unit in place.

Operating Instructions

Power On/Off

Press the ON/OFF button on the control unit to power the flash on or off.

Operating Modes

The FC-100 offers four operating modes, selectable via the MODE button:

• Light Mode: Provides continuous LED illumination for constant lighting.
• Flash Mode: Functions as a traditional flash, emitting a burst of light when triggered by the camera.
• L (Left) Mode: Activates only the left half of the ring flash, creating directional lighting.
• R (Right) Mode: Activates only the right half of the ring flash, creating directional lighting.

The left and right flash functions can create a three-dimensional effect on the subject.

Adjusting Brightness/Power

Use the arrow buttons (< and >) on the control unit to adjust the brightness or flash power output. The LCD screen will display the current setting.

Note: The optimal focal length for use is 50mm (35mm film format). A black corner may appear when using a wide-angle lens.

• Flash not syncing with camera:
  • Ensure the control unit is fully seated in the camera's hot shoe.
