5. Setup

5.1 Assembling the Sander

  1. Unfold the sander body and secure any locking mechanisms to ensure the handle is fully extended and rigid.
  2. Adjust the telescoping handle to a comfortable working length.

5.2 Attaching a Sanding Head

  1. Select either the circular or triangular sanding head based on your task.
  2. Align the chosen head with the sander's drive mechanism.
  3. Slide back the release latch on the sander.
  4. Push the sanding head firmly onto the sander until it clicks into place. Release the latch to secure it.
  5. Gently pull on the head to ensure it is securely attached before operation.

5.3 Installing Sandpaper

  1. Ensure the sander is disconnected from the power source.
  2. Select the appropriate grit sandpaper for your application (e.g., lower grit for heavy material removal, higher grit for fine finishing).
  3. Align the sandpaper disc or triangle with the hook-and-loop base pad on the sanding head. Ensure any dust extraction holes on the sandpaper align with those on the pad.
  4. Press the sandpaper firmly onto the pad to secure it.

5.4 Connecting the Dust Hose

  1. Attach one end of the 15-foot flexible dust hose to the dust port on the sander. Ensure a tight fit.
  2. Connect the other end of the hose to a suitable shop vacuum or dust extractor. For optimal dust collection, use a vacuum with a HEPA filter.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Powering On/Off

  1. Before plugging in, ensure the variable speed dial is set to the lowest setting.
  2. Plug the sander into a grounded power outlet.
  3. To turn on, press the power switch. To turn off, press the power switch again.

6.2 Adjusting Speed

The variable speed dial allows you to adjust the sanding speed from 600 to 1500 RPM. Start with a lower speed for delicate work or when first getting accustomed to the tool. Increase the speed for faster material removal on larger, less sensitive areas.

6.3 Sanding Techniques

  • General Sanding (Circular Head): Use the circular head for broad, flat surfaces. Apply light, even pressure and move the sander in smooth, overlapping passes. Avoid pressing too hard, as this can create gouges or uneven spots and reduce motor life.
  • Corner and Edge Sanding (Triangular Head): Switch to the triangular head for reaching into corners, along edges, and in tight spaces where the circular head cannot access. Use the pointed tip to work into angles.
  • Dust Collection: Always operate the sander with the dust hose connected to a vacuum. This significantly reduces airborne dust, improving visibility and air quality.
  • Overhead Work: When sanding ceilings, utilize the telescoping handle. Take frequent breaks as overhead work can be fatiguing.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

  • After each use, disconnect the sander from power.
  • Wipe down the exterior of the tool with a clean, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents.
  • Use compressed air to clear dust from ventilation openings and around the sanding head mechanism.
  • Inspect the dust hose for any blockages and clear them as necessary.

7.2 Sandpaper Replacement

Replace sandpaper when it becomes worn, torn, or no longer effectively removes material. Worn sandpaper can lead to inefficient sanding and potential damage to the surface.

7.3 Storage

Store the sander in a clean, dry place. The foldable design allows for more compact storage. Ensure the power cord is neatly wrapped and not kinked.
