2.3 Initial Programming

Upon initial setup or after a factory reset, the keypad will have default settings. It is crucial to change these for security purposes.

Video 2.1: This video demonstrates how to program the key and password on the keypad. It covers changing the public PIN, adding new cards, and modifying the program password.

2.3.1 Default Public PIN

The default public PIN is 1234. This PIN allows entry without an RFID card. It is recommended to change this immediately after installation.

(Refer to Video 2.1, segment 0:00-0:06 for demonstration of default public PIN usage.)

2.3.2 Changing the Public PIN

To change the public PIN, follow the instructions in the video. The new public PIN will replace the default 1234.

(Refer to Video 2.1, segment 0:07-0:20 for demonstration of changing the public PIN.)

2.3.3 Adding User Cards

The system supports up to 1000 user cards. To add new RFID keychains or cards to the system, follow the programming steps. Each card will be assigned a unique identity.

(Refer to Video 2.1, segment 0:33-0:46 for demonstration of adding user cards.)

2.3.4 Modifying the Program Password

The program password is used to enter programming mode. It is highly recommended to change this from the default to prevent unauthorized access to system settings.

(Refer to Video 2.1, segment 0:53-1:07 for demonstration of modifying the program password.)

After a force reset, the default program password will be restored. The video also demonstrates how to use this default password to add cards.

(Refer to Video 2.1, segment 1:35-1:49 for demonstration of using the default program password after a reset.)

3. Operating Instructions

The OBO HANDS RFID Metal Keypad offers flexible entry options:

  • Password Only: Enter your programmed password followed by #.
  • ID Card Only: Swipe a registered RFID card in the ID Card Area.
  • Password + ID Card: Enter your programmed password, then swipe a registered RFID card.

3.1 Successful Card Swiping

When a registered RFID card is successfully swiped, the indicator light will typically turn green, and you will hear a confirmation beep, indicating successful access.

Video 3.1: This video demonstrates successful card swiping (segments 0:47-0:52, 1:20-1:23, 1:50-1:55, 1:56-2:09).

3.2 User Card Verification

The system verifies the RFID card against its stored user database. A successful verification will grant access.

(Refer to Video 3.1, segment 1:56-2:09 for demonstration of user card verification.)

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

To maintain the keypad's appearance and functionality, wipe it regularly with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the metal finish or electronic components.

4.2 Rain Cover

Ensure the waterproof rain cover is properly installed and free from cracks or damage, especially if the unit is exposed to outdoor elements. This cover is crucial for protecting the internal electronics from moisture.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Swipe Failed

If a card swipe fails, the indicator light will typically flash red, and an error sound may be heard. This could be due to an unregistered card, improper swiping technique, or a system error.

(Refer to Video 2.1, segment 0:27-0:32 and Video 3.1, segment 2:21-2:30 for demonstrations of failed card swipes.)

5.2 Force Reset Program Password

If you forget your program password or need to reset the system to its default program password, a force reset can be performed. This involves opening the unit and shorting specific pins on the circuit board.

Caution: Performing a force reset will revert the program password to its factory default. All user data (cards and public PIN) will remain intact.

Video 5.1: This video demonstrates how to force reset the program password (segment 1:28-1:33).

5.3 Restore Factory Settings

To restore the keypad to its complete factory default settings, including resetting all user cards and passwords, follow the factory reset procedure. This will erase all programmed data.

Warning: Restoring factory settings will erase all programmed user data and passwords. You will need to re-program all cards and PINs after this procedure.

Video 5.2: This video demonstrates how to restore factory settings (segment 2:10-2:20).
