Setup and Installation
The TRIXIE Side Element can be installed using either screws or adhesive. Please note that adhesive tape or screws are not included in the package and must be purchased separately.
- Measure and Position: Carefully measure the side opening of your tilt window. The TRIXIE Side Element measures approximately 62 cm in height, 16 cm at the wider top, and 7 cm at the narrower bottom. Ensure the element fits securely within the window frame opening.
- Prepare Mounting Surface: Clean the window frame surface where the element will be attached. Ensure it is free from dust, grease, and moisture for optimal adhesion or secure screw placement.
- Attach Supports: The package includes mounting supports. These supports are designed to hold the side element in place.
- Mounting Options:
- Screw Mounting: If using screws, mark the positions for drilling through the supports into the window frame. Drill pilot holes if necessary, then secure the supports with appropriate screws. This method generally provides the most secure attachment.
- Adhesive Mounting: If using strong double-sided adhesive tape (not included), apply it firmly to the back of the supports. Press the supports firmly onto the clean window frame surface, holding for a few seconds to ensure good contact. Allow the adhesive to cure according to the manufacturer's instructions before placing stress on the element.
- Insert Side Element: Once the supports are securely mounted, slide the TRIXIE Side Element into the supports. Ensure it is firmly seated and does not wobble.
- Verify Stability: After installation, gently test the stability of the side element to ensure it is securely fixed and cannot be dislodged by a pet.
