Setup

Initial Setup Steps (General):
- Power On: Plug the device into an electrical outlet. Wait for the power LED to stabilize.
- Connect: On your computer or mobile device, connect to the Wi-Fi network broadcast by the PIX-LINK device (e.g., "PIX-LINK_XXXX"). No password is required for the initial connection.
- Access Web Interface: Open a web browser and enter the default IP address (usually 192.168.1.254 or 192.168.1.1) or the default domain name (e.g., "wifi.repeater"). Refer to the label on the device for exact details.
- Login: Enter the default username and password (usually "admin" for both).
- Select Mode: Follow the on-screen wizard to select your desired operating mode.
1. Repeater Mode (Range Extender)
This mode extends the coverage of an existing wireless network.
- After logging into the web interface, select "Repeater Mode".
- The device will scan for available Wi-Fi networks. Select the network you wish to extend.
- Enter the password for the selected network.
- You can choose to keep the same SSID (network name) or create a new one for the extended network.
- Click "Apply" or "Save". The device will restart.
- Once restarted, connect your devices to the extended Wi-Fi network.
2. Router Mode
In this mode, the device acts as a primary router, creating a new private network.
- Connect the device's WAN/LAN port to your modem using an Ethernet cable.
- In the web interface, select "Router Mode".
- Configure your WAN connection type (e.g., DHCP, Static IP, PPPoE) as provided by your ISP.
- Set up your new Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.
- Click "Apply" or "Save". The device will restart.
3. Access Point (AP) Mode
This mode converts a wired network connection into a wireless one.
- Connect the device's Ethernet port to your existing wired router/network switch.
- In the web interface, select "AP Mode".
- Configure your desired Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.
- Click "Apply" or "Save". The device will restart.
4. WPS Function
WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) allows for a quick and secure connection without manually entering passwords.
- Press the WPS button on your main router.
- Within two minutes, press the WPS button on the PIX-LINK AC1200.
- The devices will automatically establish a secure connection. The signal LED on the PIX-LINK device will indicate a successful connection.
Operating
Once configured, the PIX-LINK AC1200 operates automatically. Ensure it is placed in an optimal location for signal coverage, ideally midway between your main router and the area with weak signal.
- Signal Indicators: Monitor the LED indicators on the device to ensure a strong and stable connection.
- Wired Connections: Use the Ethernet port to connect wired devices for stable network access.
- Dual Band: The device supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. For higher speeds and less interference, connect compatible devices to the 5GHz band. For wider coverage and better penetration through walls, use the 2.4GHz band.
Maintenance
- Firmware Updates: Periodically check the PIX-LINK official website for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Cleaning: Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
- Ventilation: Ensure the ventilation holes are not blocked to prevent overheating.
- Restart: If you experience performance issues, try restarting the device by unplugging it from the power outlet for 10 seconds and then plugging it back in.
Troubleshooting
- Cannot access web management page:
- Ensure your device is connected to the PIX-LINK network.
- Verify the IP address or domain name entered in the browser is correct.
- Try clearing your browser's cache or using a different browser.
- Temporarily disable any firewall or antivirus software.
- No internet access after setup:
- In Repeater mode, ensure the password for the host network is correct.
- Check the connection between the PIX-LINK device and your main router/modem.
- Verify your main router has internet access.
- Try restarting both the PIX-LINK device and your main router.
- Weak signal or frequent disconnections:
- Relocate the PIX-LINK device closer to your main router, ideally in a central location.
- Adjust the external antennas for optimal signal reception.
- Check for sources of interference (e.g., microwaves, cordless phones).
- Forgot login password:
- Perform a factory reset by pressing and holding the Reset button for 5-10 seconds until the LEDs flash. Note: This will erase all configurations.
