4. Setup
- Battery Installation: Locate the battery compartment on the backside of the scale. Open the cover and insert the 3 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the battery cover securely.
- Attach Top Shackle:
- Remove the cotter pin and slide out the pin from the top shackle (U-shaped hook).
- Place one rubber spacer into each recess on either side of the top opening of the scale unit. These spacers help stabilize the shackle.
- Align the top shackle over the rubber spacers and the scale's top opening.
- Slide the pin through the shackle and the scale's opening, ensuring it passes through both rubber spacers.
- Secure the pin by re-inserting the cotter pin through the hole at the end of the pin and bending it to prevent dislodgement.

- Attach Bottom Hook: The S-shaped bottom hook can be directly attached to the lower eyelet of the scale unit. Ensure it is securely seated.
5. Operating Instructions

Figure 5.1: Quick guide to basic operations: Powering On/Off, Switching Units, and using the Tare/Hold function.
- Power On/Off: Press the ON/OFF button to turn the scale on. The display will show "88888" briefly, then "0.0". To turn off, press and hold the ON/OFF button until the display turns off. The scale also features an auto-off function to conserve battery life after a period of inactivity.
- Unit Switching: With the scale on, press the UNIT button to cycle through the available weighing units: pounds (lb), kilograms (kg), and Newtons (N). The selected unit will be displayed on the screen.
- Tare Function: To weigh items in a container or to exclude the weight of a hook/sling, first hang the empty container/hook. Once the weight stabilizes, press the TARE button. The display will reset to "0.0", allowing you to weigh the contents accurately.
- Hold Function: The scale features a data hold function. Once a stable weight is detected, the reading may automatically lock. Some models may have a dedicated HOLD button to manually lock the reading. Refer to the display for a "HOLD" indicator.
- Weighing: Hang the item to be weighed securely on the bottom hook. Ensure the item is stable and not swinging. The weight will be displayed on the LCD screen.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the scale with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water. While the screen and buttons are waterproof, the entire unit is not designed for submersion.
- Battery Replacement: When the "Lo" indicator appears on the display, replace all 3 AAA batteries promptly to ensure accurate readings and continuous operation.
- Storage: Store the scale in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. When not in use for extended periods, it is recommended to remove the batteries.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the hooks, shackle, and main unit for any signs of wear, damage, or deformation. Do not use the scale if any components appear compromised.
