NEWTRY DDX-450 Desktop Automatic Capping Machine User Manual

Model: DDX-450 | Brand: NEWTRY

1. Product Overview

The NEWTRY DDX-450 is a desktop electric capping machine designed for efficiently sealing round bottles with various cap types. It features an electric screw cap mechanism and hand delivery for operation, making it suitable for small to medium-scale production environments.

1.1 Working Principle

This machine operates by applying a constant torque to screw caps, anti-theft caps, and press-fit caps. The capping head's pressure is adjustable to ensure a secure seal without damaging the cap or bottle, accommodating a wide range of materials and specifications.

1.2 Key Features

  • Height Adjustment Knob: Allows precise adjustment of the capping head to accommodate different bottle heights (40-370mm).
  • Dual Motor System: Equipped with two independent motors, one for controlling the cap rotation and another for lifting the capping head, ensuring strong tightening force and enhanced durability.
  • Constant Torque Capping Head: Provides consistent and adjustable pressure for reliable cap sealing, preventing overtightening or undertightening.
  • Bottle Positioning Device: Features a safety device to securely position bottles, preventing them from tipping over during the capping process and ensuring safer operation.
  • Simple Control Panel: Designed for ease of use with a clear and intuitive interface, simplifying operation.

2. Safety Instructions

To ensure safe operation and prevent injury or damage to the machine, please read and adhere to the following safety guidelines:

  • Always ensure the machine is placed on a stable, level, and non-slip surface before operation.
  • Keep hands, hair, and loose clothing away from all moving parts, especially the capping head and motor, during operation.
  • Disconnect the power supply before performing any adjustments, maintenance, cleaning, or when the machine is not in use.
  • Do not operate the machine in wet conditions or with wet hands to avoid electrical shock.
  • Ensure proper ventilation around the machine to prevent overheating.
  • Only use the machine for its intended purpose: capping bottles within the specified diameter and height range.
  • In case of any malfunction, unusual noise, or smoke, immediately turn off the power and consult the troubleshooting section or contact customer support.
  • Do not attempt to modify the machine or use non-original parts, as this may void the warranty and pose safety risks.

3. Setup and Assembly

3.2 Initial Placement

Place the machine on a sturdy, level workbench capable of supporting its weight (23KG). Ensure there is adequate space around the machine for safe operation, bottle handling, and access to controls.

3.3 Power Connection

Connect the power cord to a compatible 110V or 220V power outlet, depending on the voltage specified for your machine. Ensure the power switch on the control panel is in the 'OFF' position before connecting to power.

4. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps for efficient and safe operation of your DDX-450 capping machine.

4.1 Adjusting for Bottle Height

Use the height adjustment knob located on the top of the machine to raise or lower the capping head. Adjust it to the appropriate height for your specific bottles, ensuring the capping head can comfortably reach and engage the cap without excessive force or obstruction. The machine accommodates bottle heights from 40mm to 370mm.

4.2 Adjusting Capping Torque

The constant torque capping head allows for adjustable pressure. Locate the torque adjustment mechanism (typically a knob or screw near the capping head) and turn it to achieve the desired cap tightness. It is recommended to test on a sample bottle first to prevent overtightening, which can damage the cap or bottle, or undertightening, which can result in a loose seal.

4.3 Capping Process

  1. Ensure the machine is powered on and properly adjusted for your bottle and cap size.
  2. Place an uncapped bottle onto the bottle positioning device, ensuring it is centered and stable.
  3. Manually place a cap securely onto the bottle.
  4. Activate the capping mechanism using the control panel (e.g., pressing the start button). The machine will lower the capping head, rotate to secure the cap, and then retract.
  5. Remove the capped bottle.
  6. Repeat the process for subsequent bottles.

The machine is capable of capping 20-40 bottles per minute, depending on operator efficiency and bottle/cap characteristics.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your capping machine.

5.1 Cleaning

Regularly clean the machine's surfaces with a soft, dry cloth. Ensure no dust, liquid spills, or debris accumulates in or around moving parts. Always disconnect power before cleaning.

5.2 Lubrication

Periodically check moving parts, such as the vertical guide rods and the capping head mechanism, for smooth operation. Apply a small amount of machine-grade lubricant to designated points as needed to reduce friction and wear.

5.3 Inspection

Inspect the power cord for any signs of damage (fraying, cuts). Check all fasteners, screws, and connections to ensure they are secure. Tighten any loose components. Examine the capping head for wear and tear; replace if necessary.
