Installation Steps:

  1. Step 1: Turn off power at the circuit breaker. Locate the circuit breaker controlling the outlet you intend to modify and switch it to the OFF position to ensure safety.
  2. Step 2: Remove existing cover plate. Carefully unscrew and remove the current wall plate from your duplex outlet.
  3. Step 3: Check screw terminals are clear. Visually inspect the outlet to ensure the screw terminals on the sides are clear and accessible. If there are obstructions, refer to the Troubleshooting section.
  4. Step 4: Place GuideLight over the outlet. Align the GuideLight 2 over the duplex outlet. The patented prongs on the back of the GuideLight are designed to slide inside the electric box and make contact with the screw terminals, drawing power directly from the outlet.
  5. Step 5: Turn on power and test. Restore power at the circuit breaker. In a dark environment, the GuideLight 2's LED lights should automatically activate.

Operating Instructions

The SnapPower GuideLight 2 operates automatically using its integrated light sensor. There are no switches or manual controls required.

  • Automatic On/Off: The built-in light sensor detects ambient light levels. When the surrounding area becomes dark (e.g., at dusk or when room lights are off), the LED lights will automatically turn on. When sufficient light is present, the LEDs will turn off.
  • Optimal Placement: For best performance, ensure the light sensor (small black dot on the faceplate) is not obstructed by furniture, decorations, or other plugged-in devices.
