3. Setup and Installation

The Candy CFT610/3S cooker hood is designed for under cabinet mounting. Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance and safety.

3.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the cooker hood from its packaging. Inspect for any damage during transit. Keep all packaging materials until you are satisfied with the installation.

3.2 Mounting

This hood is designed for under cabinet installation. Ensure the cabinet structure is strong enough to support the hood's weight (Net weight: 4.6 kg). The product dimensions are approximately 600mm (Width) x 470mm (Depth) x 77mm (Height).

For optimal extraction, ensure the hood is positioned correctly above your cooking surface. The diameter of the air outlet is 125mm, which should be considered for ducting connections.

Refer to the specific instructions for removing and re-installing the mesh filter.

5.3 Replacing the Halogen Light Bulb

Ensure the hood is disconnected from the power supply before attempting to replace the bulb. Replace with a 28W Halogen bulb of the same type.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your cooker hood, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Hood not turning on:
    • Check if the hood is properly plugged into a working power outlet.
    • Check the circuit breaker or fuse.
    • Ensure the power switch/slider is in the 'On' position.
  • Poor extraction performance:
    • Clean or replace the grease filters.
    • Check if the ducting is clear and not obstructed (for extraction mode).
    • Ensure carbon filters are not saturated (for re-circulation mode).
    • Verify the fan speed setting is appropriate for the cooking activity.
  • Excessive noise:
    • Ensure the hood is securely mounted and all screws are tightened.
    • Check for any loose parts or foreign objects in the fan area.
    • Verify ducting is properly installed and not causing vibrations.
