7. Maintenance

The Antec NeoECO Modular NE650M Power Supply is designed for reliable, long-term operation with minimal maintenance. However, following these guidelines can help ensure its longevity:

  • Keep Clean: Periodically clean the exterior of the power supply and the fan grille to prevent dust buildup, which can impede airflow and cooling. Use compressed air to gently clear dust from the fan and vents.
  • Ensure Proper Ventilation: Make sure your computer case has adequate airflow and that the power supply's intake and exhaust vents are not obstructed.
  • Avoid Overloading: Do not exceed the rated wattage of the power supply. Ensure your system's power requirements are within the NE650M's 650W capacity.
  • Environmental Conditions: Operate the power supply within recommended temperature and humidity ranges.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Antec NeoECO Modular NE650M Power Supply, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
System does not power on.
  • PSU power switch is off.
  • AC power cord is loose or disconnected.
  • Cables are not properly connected to motherboard/components.
  • Faulty component (e.g., motherboard, CPU).
  • Ensure PSU switch is in "I" (On) position.
  • Check AC power cord connection to PSU and wall outlet.
  • Verify all power cables (24-pin, 8-pin CPU, PCIe, SATA) are securely connected.
  • Test components individually if possible, or try a different PSU if available.
System powers on but shuts down immediately.
  • Overload or short circuit.
  • Overheating.
  • Faulty component.
  • Disconnect non-essential components and try again.
  • Ensure proper ventilation and clear any dust buildup.
  • Check for loose screws or components that might be causing a short.
Fan is not spinning or is excessively loud.
  • Dust buildup.
  • Fan malfunction.
  • Normal operation (fan may not spin at low loads).
  • Clean fan and vents with compressed air.
  • Note that the fan may not spin at low loads due to thermal management. If it's consistently loud at high loads, contact support.

If the problem persists after trying these steps, please contact Antec customer support for further assistance.
