1. Setup and Assembly

The Napoleon TravelQ PRO285X grill is designed for convenient portability and ease of setup. While the main grill unit is largely pre-assembled, some minor assembly is required for the cart and side trays.

Cleaning the Cooking Grids:

4. Troubleshooting

This section provides solutions to common issues you might encounter with your grill.

Common Issues and Solutions:

  • Burner Not Lighting:
    • Ensure the propane tank valve is fully open.
    • Check for proper connection of the propane tank to the grill.
    • Verify that the control knob is pushed in and turned to the HIGH position.
    • If using a 20lb tank, ensure the adapter hose is securely connected and not kinked.
    • If the igniter is sparking but no flame, check if there is gas flow. The tank might be empty or the regulator might be in bypass mode (reset by turning off all knobs, disconnecting tank, waiting 30 seconds, reconnecting, and slowly opening tank valve).
  • Uneven Heating:
    • Ensure the grill is level.
    • Clean the burners and cooking grids to remove any blockages or debris.
    • Check for proper gas flow to both burners.
  • Low Flame/Low Heat:
    • Check if the propane tank is low or empty.
    • Perform a regulator bypass reset (as described above).
    • Ensure gas lines are not obstructed or kinked.
