Important Safety Instructions

- Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to "off", then remove plug from wall outlet.

- Water Tank: Removable tank for fresh water.

Setup and First Use
Follow these steps to set up your Nespresso Essenza Mini machine for the first time.
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the machine from its packaging. Retain packaging materials for future transport or storage.
- Placement: Place the machine on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, away from water splashes and heat sources.
- Rinse the Water Tank: Remove the water tank and rinse it thoroughly with fresh drinking water.
- Fill the Water Tank: Fill the water tank with fresh drinking water up to the maximum level.
- Plug In: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
- Power On: Press either the Espresso or Lungo button to turn on the machine. The buttons will blink as the machine heats up (approximately 30 seconds). They will glow steadily when ready.
- First Rinse Cycle: Before brewing coffee, perform a rinse cycle to clean the internal system. Place a container (at least 0.5 liters) under the coffee outlet. Press the Lungo button three times consecutively. The machine will dispense hot water. Repeat this process until the water tank is empty.
- Machine Ready: Once the rinse cycle is complete and the water tank is refilled, the machine is ready for use.
Operating Instructions
Brewing coffee with your Nespresso Essenza Mini is simple.
- Fill Water Tank: Ensure the water tank is filled with fresh drinking water.
- Power On: If the machine is off, press either the Espresso or Lungo button to turn it on. Wait for the buttons to stop blinking and glow steadily, indicating the machine is heated and ready.
- Insert Capsule: Lift the brewing lever completely. Insert a Nespresso OriginalLine capsule into the capsule slot. Close the lever firmly.
- Place Cup: Place a cup under the coffee outlet. For larger cups, the drip tray can be removed.
- Select Coffee Size:
- Press the Espresso button for a 40 ml (1.35 oz) shot.
- Press the Lungo button for a 110 ml (3.7 oz) shot.
- Eject Used Capsule: After brewing, lift the brewing lever to eject the used capsule into the internal capsule container. Close the lever.
- Automatic Power-Off: The machine will automatically power off after 9 minutes of inactivity to save energy. You can press any button to turn it back on.
Programming Cup Sizes
You can customize the volume for the Espresso and Lungo buttons.
- Ensure Machine is On: Make sure the machine is heated and ready.
- Insert Capsule: Insert the desired Nespresso capsule.
- Start Programming: Press and hold the button you wish to program (Espresso or Lungo).
- Release Button: Release the button once the desired volume of coffee has been dispensed into your cup. The machine will remember this new volume for future brews with that button.
Care and Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your machine.
Daily Cleaning
- Drip Tray and Capsule Container: Empty and rinse the drip tray and used capsule container daily with warm water. Dry with a clean cloth.
- Water Tank: Rinse the water tank daily with fresh drinking water.
- Machine Exterior: Wipe the machine's exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or immerse the machine in water.
Descaling
Descaling is crucial to remove mineral deposits and maintain machine performance. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage. Nespresso recommends descaling at least once a year, or more frequently in hard water areas.
- Prepare: Ensure the machine is empty of capsules and the drip tray is clean.
- Descaling Solution: Fill the water tank with 0.5 liters of fresh water and add one sachet of Nespresso descaling solution.
- Enter Descaling Mode: Turn the machine off. Press and hold both the Espresso and Lungo buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The buttons will blink rapidly.
- Start Descaling: Place a container (at least 1 liter) under the coffee outlet. Press the Lungo button to start the descaling cycle. The machine will run the solution through intermittently.
- Rinse Cycle: Once the water tank is empty, rinse it thoroughly and refill with fresh water. Press the Lungo button again to perform a rinse cycle with clean water.
- Exit Descaling Mode: Once the rinse cycle is complete, press and hold both buttons for 3 seconds to exit descaling mode. The machine will return to normal operation.
