Assembly and Setup
Follow these steps to assemble your Impex VC-4701 vacuum cleaner before first use:
- Attach the Wheels: Insert the four wheels into the designated slots on the bottom of the vacuum cleaner unit until they click into place.
- Connect the Flexible Hose: Insert the larger end of the flexible hose into the suction inlet on the front of the vacuum cleaner unit. Ensure it is securely fastened. For blower function, connect the hose to the blower outlet located at the rear of the unit.
- Assemble the Telescopic Tube: Connect one end of the telescopic metal tube to the handle of the flexible hose. Extend the tube to your desired length by pressing the release button and pulling.
- Attach Cleaning Accessory: Select the appropriate cleaning accessory (floor brush, sofa brush, or blower pipe) and attach it firmly to the open end of the telescopic metal tube.
- Power Connection: Unwind the power cord and plug it into a suitable electrical outlet.
Operation
Dry Vacuuming:
- Ensure the flexible hose is connected to the suction inlet.
- Select the appropriate accessory for the surface you intend to clean (e.g., floor brush for hard floors/carpets, sofa brush for upholstery).
- Press the power button (usually located on the top of the unit) to turn on the vacuum cleaner.
- Adjust the suction power if your model features an adjustable speed control.
- Move the accessory slowly over the surface to be cleaned, allowing the vacuum to pick up dirt and debris.
- When finished, press the power button to turn off the appliance and unplug it from the power outlet.

Blower Function:
- Disconnect the flexible hose from the suction inlet.
- Connect the flexible hose to the blower outlet, typically located at the rear of the vacuum cleaner unit.
- Attach the blower pipe (crevice nozzle) to the end of the telescopic tube or directly to the hose.
- Turn on the vacuum cleaner. Air will now be expelled from the hose, allowing you to blow away dust and debris from hard-to-reach areas, such as corners, vents, or outdoor spaces.
- When finished, turn off the appliance and unplug it.
Maintenance and Care
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your vacuum cleaner.
Emptying the Dust Container:
- When the dust fill indicator shows full, or suction power decreases, it's time to empty the container.
- Unplug the vacuum cleaner from the power outlet.
- Release the latches on the sides of the unit and carefully lift off the motor head.
- Remove the dust filter (if applicable) and empty the collected dust and debris into a waste bin.
- Clean the inside of the container with a damp cloth if necessary.
- Reassemble the filter and motor head, ensuring the latches are securely fastened.
Cleaning the Filter:
- The HEPA filter should be cleaned regularly to maintain suction efficiency.
- Remove the filter as described in the 'Emptying the Dust Container' section.
- Gently tap the filter to dislodge dust. For a more thorough clean, rinse the filter under cool running water.
- Important: Allow the filter to air dry completely before reinserting it into the vacuum cleaner. Do not use the appliance with a wet filter.
General Cleaning:
- Wipe the exterior of the vacuum cleaner with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Check the hose and accessories for blockages periodically and clear any obstructions.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Impex VC-4701, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
