Setup Instructions
- Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging. Inspect for any damage.
- Assemble Pole: Connect the two sections of the bronze aluminum pole. Ensure they are securely fastened.
- Insert into Base: Place the assembled umbrella pole into a suitable patio umbrella base (sold separately). Ensure the base is heavy enough to provide stability for a 9ft umbrella. Tighten any securing knobs on the base to hold the pole firmly.
- Open Umbrella: Turn the crank handle clockwise to open the umbrella canopy. Continue cranking until the canopy is fully extended.
Operating Instructions
Opening and Closing the Umbrella
To open the umbrella, turn the crank handle clockwise. Continue turning until the canopy is fully open and taut. To close the umbrella, turn the crank handle counter-clockwise until the canopy is fully retracted.
Auto-Tilt Function
The umbrella features an auto-tilt mechanism for precise shade control. Once the umbrella canopy is fully open, continue turning the crank handle clockwise. The canopy will begin to tilt, allowing you to adjust the angle of shade as the sun moves. To return the canopy to its upright position, turn the crank handle counter-clockwise until it is vertical.
Maintenance
Canopy Care (O’bravia2 Fabric)
- Cleaning: For general cleaning, brush off loose dirt. Spray with a mild soap and water solution. Use a soft brush to clean, then rinse thoroughly with clean water. Allow to air dry completely before closing or storing.
- Stains: For stubborn stains, a diluted bleach solution (e.g., 1 cup bleach to 1 gallon of water) can be used on O’bravia2 fabric. Rinse thoroughly.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, or during high winds/severe weather, close the umbrella and secure it with the integrated ties. For long-term storage, consider using a protective umbrella cover (sold separately) and storing in a dry, sheltered location.
Frame Care (Bronze Aluminum)
- Cleaning: Wipe the aluminum frame with a soft cloth and mild soap and water. Rinse and dry thoroughly to prevent water spots.
- Rust Resistance: The powder-coated aluminum frame is designed to resist rust. Avoid abrasive cleaners or tools that could scratch the coating.
Troubleshooting
- Umbrella not opening/closing smoothly: Check for any obstructions in the canopy or around the crank mechanism. Ensure the Kevlar mesh lift cord is not tangled. Apply a silicone-based lubricant to moving parts if necessary.
- Umbrella not tilting: Ensure the canopy is fully open before attempting to tilt. Continue cranking clockwise past the fully open position to engage the auto-tilt. If issues persist, inspect the tilt mechanism for obstructions.
- Umbrella instability: Verify that the umbrella pole is securely seated in a sufficiently heavy base. Ensure all securing knobs on the base are tightened. Do not use the umbrella in high winds.
